I am sure its tough but you seem to be the kind of guy that is pretty strong both physically and mentally, with a good head on your shoulders. I have nothing but faith that you will get by any obstacles in your way and have a good and successful life.

    Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and know that ours are with you as well.

    Thanks so much Bryan, I wish the same for you and your family also.

    These kind of trying moments define who we are, facing it with character and "faith" makes us the kind of man we want to be. I'd be one of the first to say you seem to have a lot of both. Everything you've been through recently, you honestly come off like a great person with the courage you've shown.

      Derek;

      I didn't reply in this thread until now, but you know I've been thinking of you since you mentioned something in the online leagues.

      My dad, age 72 at the time, had over 8 on his PSA reading. So, before he consulted with his doctor, they took a CAT scan and MRI of him. 72 yrs old and no health issues. All of a sudden, he had blood clots in his lung, a nodule on his lung, an enlarged bladder and the prostrate cancer. He had severe prostate cancer with a Gleason reading of 9 out of 10.

      They checked for blood clots in his legs. Clear. They took care of the blood clots first with medication and did a scope of the lung nodule. Lung nodule wasn't anything to be concerned with. He had robotic surgery and had the prostrate removed.

      He's been taking hormonal therapy shots every 6 months and his prostrate reading is 0.0, no growth for the past 18 months.

      My point in all of this is one day he found out about all of this and his roof started to cave in. I told him would help take care of him and he started to breakdown a bit and said, I've never burdened anyone in my life. I looked at him and said, don't worry, that's why I'm here, to help you through this.

      So, let's hope you find answers tomorrow and I'll be thinking and praying for you! Family and friends are great support.

        Damn Terry glad to hear everything worked out for your ol man. I'm sure it was a rough spot, but those kind of things can bring family even closer. You start seeing the worst and when it comes out good you appreciate them being around even that much more. Glad to hear good news like that came for you guys though.

        Today, I went to my appointment and really didn't get much answers. They ordered a stress test and a MRI.

        I'm going to go hard as hell on that treadmill. This will be the best oppertunity ever to really see how hard I can push myself. I run 2 to 3 miles around a 6 to 7 mph speed couple times a week (8 to 9 min mile). I need to see if I can keep that kind of pace/improve or if I need to back off.

          The stress test is just to get your heart rate to a target heart rate and check for problems. Like for me, since I run a lot, they had to set the incline really high with my normal running speed to get my heart rate up in a reasonable amount of time.

            I hope that stress test doesn't cause too much pain, Derek. Good luck on the results!
