Which broadcast channels can you receive for free? It's time you cut the cord!

you can find out where your channels are at and where to point the antennas

What channels do you get mang? I'm seriously thinking about cutting ties with directv myself. I can't justify the price anymore, not for the amount of TV I watch. I've already got Netflix, and I can swing the MLB.tv and League Pass packages.

All the locals, PBS, CW, and ion are all I really watch, but there's a ton of other channels that I get that sometimes have something good on (ThisTV, bounce, Antenna, etc). Outside of that, its all Korean or Spanish.

          Re: Direct Tv or Cable

I just recently left DirecTV after being with them since 2005. Comcast offered a sweet bundle deal that I just couldn't pass up. I now have phone, internet and cable with the sports package and HBO and Showtime for only 15 dollars more than what I was paying for sat tv only. The only downside about cable is the HD DVRs. They suck. I was able to save a whole season of Formula One races on my Directv DVR, but the storage capacity on the Comcast box only allowed me to save about 7 races.

I would leave direcTV but I live in an area where we don't have cable and I'm not a fan of Dish. To me it seems DirecTV doesn't really care about their longstanding customers. They give so much away to new customers but if you've been with them you have to spend an arm and a leg to get what the new customers get.

Yup. This is why I left them. Plus they are limited in the fact that they only offer tv when the cable competitors offer that plus phone and internet. Another thing to mention is the rain. It's only a matter of time before you get a heavy rainstorm in your area during a very important live event that will only be broadcast once. Had this happen to me during a World Series game one year and during the Mayweather-Marquez fight.

We just upgraded to HD from SD with Directv. The only time in the summer when service was interrupted was during lightening. Lightening in the summer only last several minutes before it pushes out. Once that was over with, service came back. I'm hoping that is the way it is with HD.

The other thing is that directv now offers customers u-verse internet. I was offered u-verse internet through directv, but turned them down because I own a business and didn't want to change email addresses.

DirecTV offers internet through other people.

You can get DirecTV and Verizon.. DirecTV and ATT.. and then there's some not hugely known ones in CenturyLink, Windstream and Cincinnati Bell.

You can get Satellite Internet through DirecTV, but even during training, you're told not to offer it because of how ridiculous the price is.

did they offer any discounts? I used to have a discount for ATT, but when I switched to Uverse, I lost the discount.

hate to break it to ya, but hd will go out more.

Our HD hated low clouds/fog a lot. Often times we would lose signal from just that as opposed to the actual storm.

I asked the technician when he was here last week and he gave a by the book answer.

40 degree angle, and they tested it out at 95-96%.
