    Re: Sleep Paralysis

I thought the worst was towards the end of a good sleep when you're kind of starting to wake up, but are fully aware of a pretty realistic type dream then all of a sudden you wake up fully. This sounds awful

On a side note.. Has anyone ever woken up from a dream... then woke up again?

This has only happened once to me but I can tell you I was VERY exhausted when I woke up for real..

That is assuming I'm really awake now.. lol

Yep, done that a few times. It's called 'false waking' or something like that where you seemingly wake up and go about your normal routine only to then wake up again and realize that it was just a dream.

This is so horrible lol, only happened to me once but I thought I had woken up and gone to work so I'm dreaming about having an awful night at work then my alarm goes off and I actually wake up and have to go to work, so awful.

Never had anything like this happen to me. Like once a week I'll wake up and my arms will be asleep so I'll just roll around trying to get them to wake up and sometimes my arm will fling around and smack me in the face.

I'll try to turn off my alarm with my foot or nose in the meantime. Nothing scary about it, just annoying that I have to keep listening to my alarm go off.

Here's a short that a couple of my friends made last year about this. One of the writers has occasional sleep paralysis, so being a writer, he decided to make a story out of it...

I figured this only happened in movies, but it happened to me once. I woke up, seemingly in my bed, and the 'guy' from my dream was standing at the foot of the bed... scared the **** out of me.

I've had sleep paralysis too when I was a senior in high school...I went to sleep during EOGs, had a dream about the world ending and couldn't move when I woke up, no shadowy figures, but I started 'melting' in my dream...made a scene right in the middle of class...felt awful,..

I also had a recurring dream in my old house,..I swear it was like a mini series with variables and all kinds of twists...but it stopped the day I moved...sleep is just a crazy thing, lol

This have not happen to me in awhile, but I remember I would frequently wake up from hearing what sounded like footsteps from the wall when I was younger. I also had a few times when I woke up suddenly and had little to no control of my body for a short amount of time. I never really payed much thought into at all just thought it was something that comes and go. Lol guess it might start coming back again since I brought it back up.

I've been having these experiences for as long as I can remember. I eventually became use to it.

When it happens, my reaction is, "oh ****, here we go again." Lol. Definitely scared the nose off my face the first couple times it happened.

My roommate in college was all shook up one day because he said he woke up and a witch was holding him down and he couldn't move his body at all. Sounds like he had sleep paralysis.

I get this once in a while. Usually when I lay on my back with my head tilted to the left. So I try to not lay in that position. But sometimes I forget. I don't see or hear anything strange. Maybe a buzzing or a low roar. I fall asleep with the radio on and I can hear it but it's not as clear. Just can't move. Luckily these don't last long.

I've also just learned that when I have a long night and have to get up early the next morning, if I wake up extra groggy and try to force myself awake, I keep falling in and out of paralysis. I was definitely tight-roping between a sleep state and being awake.
