Re: Off Topic 2013
I never had any true leaf textbooks. Closest I had were booklets of figures that were bound with those plastic bindings that have the prongs that go through a series of slit-like holes along the entire length of the page.

Re: Off Topic 2013
Do you mean a 3-ring binder? If there is a gap between the 2 halves of the rings when the binder is closed then the spine of the binder is broken causing it to be misaligned. Either that or you have it too full.

Re: Off Topic 2013
Ugh. I wanted to get Grand Theft Auto and it took everything I could not to go buy it yesterday. I'm going to head to a job fair at the campus Thursday and hopefully find something, and than I want to give my mom $500.--

Re: Off Topic 2013
Deja vu... I have it relatively often. Probably 3 or so times a month. And as it's happening, I'm like this happened before and no matter how I try to change it, the moment is gone and I can't do something different. In fact, sometimes trying to do something different is exactly what happened.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

Re: Off Topic 2013
Not necessarily. I had to get a looseleaf textbook for Animal Phys years ago. The hardback they had before was $200 something new and a decent used copy cost around $100. The looseleaf was $75. Guess what? You could sell it to someone taking the class the next year so it's not like it is not able to be resold, and your friend would pay more than the book store because they can't buy one cheaper than the bookstore to begin with. If you were to sell back the hardback version, you might make a few bucks, but I'd bet you'd still be out upwards of $75... the same it cost you for a book you now get to keep if you want. If you have high priced looseleafs, I can understand but ours were also pretty low compared to hardback.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
I used to buy as few textbooks as possible every semester. I think there were a couple where I bought exactly zero. Only got them if they were necessary, like needing to quote and reference the material in a paper.
