So apparently this girl that lives down the road from my dad won $68,000 worth of stuff on Wheel of Fortune... including a trip to Hawaii, trip to Panama, and a brand new Chevy Camaro.

I don't think I've ever seen a game collectively own OS's soul like this before.
Not even Madden or MLB release days are like this. EVERYONE is playing GTA.
Besides Mo.

Re: Off Topic 2013
I have no intention of buying GTA V. Not that I didn't love the series when it was on PS then PS2 but with the job search and football season I'd rarely get to enjoy it.
Being an adult sucks when it comes to these complete immersion games. I've got an hour to play but not 3 which is what I'd want.Twitter

Never been a GTA'er either. Got GTA 3 and Vice City multiple years after they were big.
I'm surprised with how mainstream and relevant it still is. GTA was always big, but even now in a more technologically advanced world and other similar style games, GTA reigns supreme. Those guys know what they're doing.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Also, **** you guys that get to play that game all day and all week long.
On my day off on Monday I tried to get everything squared away so I could do nothing but play GTA V at midnight. Cleaned the house, did the laundry, etc, etc. Then come 11:30, I get called in to work. Whatever. Not that big of a deal. I'll get the game on my way in, make some money, come home in the morning and play, and also have Tuesday off for coming in. Nope. No Tuesday off. Why? Because some girl I work with pulled a bitch move and told one of my managers I wasn't coming in on Tuesday (I was scheduled to be off Sat-Sun-Mon, wasn't aware of the Saturday off because Tuesday is always my "flex" day), so I had to cover my *** and tell him "Oh no, I'm coming in". But it gets infinitely better here. As I'm walking out the door to go to work Monday night, I find a foreclosure letter taped to the front of my door.
Just to sidetrack for some context for a second. The past 2 years I've been working, I've been living by myself at home. My mom had to leave the city to take care of my great grandma and grandpa, who had a tumor on his spine and couldn't walk. Eventually he got better and my mom came back to the city near the end of last summer. She had gotten a job at some design company but they ended up ****ing her over because one of their more senior employees came back from maternity leave or some BS like that and let her go. Anyways, this past February my great grandma passed away, so again my mom left the city to take care of things out there. She was too scared of losing my great grandpa as well, especially because he was always there for her when her parents weren't. The problem with all of this is though, aside from that one job she had for a few months, she'd hardly been working at all (she does currently have a job out there right now). Eventually that's going to catch up to you, and now here it is.
So back to Monday night. I find that letter as I'm leaving for work, and unless we were to magically pull $113,000 and some change out of our asses, I'm pretty much out of here and forced to live with someone for the time being, at least until I can try and save up to have enough money to get my own apartment or something. Oh, and on top of all that, that same night, my mom's dad passed away. Don't feel too bad because from everything I've ever heard, he wasn't a very good one, but it's just like jesus christ, really? All of these things couldn't have at least been spread out over a period of weeks or months? Instead it's this massive 10,000 pound boulder being dropped on your shoulders. I swear if the Truman Show were actually a real thing, this would be my season finale right now.
And something that I find to be a crazy coincidence in all of this is that almost exactly 2 years ago, I got robbed, woke up the next morning to my mom telling me about my great grandpa having that tumor and that she was leaving the city to take care of him, and then I had an interview for a job, where for better or worse, I happen to still be at today. It just seems so similar to me, right down to almost the same time frame. I think I should start quoting Green Day - wake me up when September ends.
Back to the house situation, it sucks obviously. It's nice to be on your own, have your own space, all that stuff. But honestly this is nothing I'm not used to. I'd probably almost need three hands to count all the places I've lived so far at 21 years old. And this house isn't that great anyway. It's a side by side with really annoying neighbors and the house itself is kind of falling apart (it was never that good to begin with).
There is some silver lining in this also. Some guy named "Rich" (ironically enough) has left two notes to call him, and the second said "I can help". Hopefully what happens is we can sell the house before it's taken, pay that mortgage off and still have spare money to get things moving in a better direction from this current **** hole. If not, whatever, but it'd be nice to get a small "win" out of this, if you could consider it that.
Anyways, I think I need to find some time right now to go on my own 6 star wanted level rampage in Grand Theft Auto. Or pick up a hooker. Either one. Or both.Last edited by BlueNGold; 09-19-2013, 10:40 AM.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
