Well, that doctor happens to be the head of research at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, a hospital known all around the world. I trust what he says over a high school team doctor/trainersProblem number 1-
2- You don't "run out of" electrolytes. What happens is the number does decrease and under the duress you cramp up since your body is working with less minerals.
3- The issue isn't DURING the activity, it's stocking up BEFORE it. That's another misconception right there. You drink water during the early parts of the game, then around halftime you need to start switching up to gatorade and replacing the stuff you do lose.
I'm not really sure how to break this to you, but I have. To my own doctor, my team doctor, and two team trainers.
I'd put serious consideration into going back to your doctor.Eagles | Phillies | Sixers | Flyers

I'm not being a gatorade fanboy, lol. If anything I'd recommend pedialyte above gatorade.Watson, you think I'm crazy, but you're acting like a Gatorade fanboy.
This is actual research with numbers to back up what I'm saying. It really only benefits extreme physical strain like a marathon, not just a simple football game

As for your cool little article:
It's talking about drinking it as a leisure. Keep reaching and something is bound to land!Marathon runners, competitive cyclists, and football players doing two-a-days are the kind of people who should be drinking it.
Story says for those doing an hour-plus of intense exercise would benefit from a sports drink, others should stick with water. And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

Neat-o sport. I'll go with the people that are specialized in this area and have helped me personally to stop cramps.
We can all agree the powerade sucks. And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU
