I gave a informative speech about three new ways doctor's are treating stroke patient's and got a C because he thought everyone should already know that.

Man, did I hate that class.

Similar to what Firefly or Bonnaroo offer. A wide mix of various artists. I wanna be able to watch CHVRCHES, MGMT, Kendrick Lamar, Passion Pit, Nas, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and whoever else sparks my interest over the course of a weekend.

I'd go every year religiously if we had something like that.

There are always a couple of good rock festivals in the midwest (Lollapolooza comes to mind right away), so I'd be willing to trade you a couple of those for a couple more of those jazz festivals you speak of... all we have around here is the Bix Beiderbeck festival.

Seriously...some professors are power hungry morons.

I wrote a paper for a class that had this written on it, "This was the best paper I've read on the subject. C+. You were 2 words short of the limit."

Really? I'm so glad that was such an important criteria.

Well, I was mostly thinking of Lolla, there's also one in Central Iowa that has AIC, Papa Roach, Volbeat, ATR, Halestorm and Thousand Foot Krutch coming. And I think there's usually one up in Wisconsin. But you're right, there are a lot more that are of those 3 types.

That's awful. The bolded stuff is the same for the most part for our class. I had a problem with swaying my first speech so I tried to contain it this time. Our topics were shoehorned into policy (current bills in the senate/house around the state/nation etc.) for this speech. Took awhile to find something I thought people would disagree with me on.

I prefer speeches without notes though. I fidget much more when I am holding them during a speech (trying to avoid any possible innuendo there).

Word limits are stupid anyway. You should be rewarded for fully presenting an idea in a concise manner.

So I've been doing temp work between my college classes at the place that I work at night to earn some extra money.

It's me and two girls (no, they're not) in a room going through files picking out all the paperclips and micro-cassettes and plastic **** so they can be shredded.

Anywho, and the real point of this story, one of the girls decides she's going to play music today. Which, fine, whatever. And then she goes Britney Spears as her music selection. Unrelentingly, unwaveringly, and unapologetically for FOUR AND A HALF ****ING HOURS.

Suicide was considered, and ultimately decided against. Barely.
