Re: Off Topic 2013
Yeah. I wasn't good enough at my position to play varsity (yet somehow the other 2B that was just as good a fielder as I was and 6 times worse at the plate was good enough to start in right. Whatever.) but honestly I was never really given an opportunity (other than pinch running [one game, got picked off once and that was that] and one pinch hit appearance [got a called strike three on a ball at my ankles] all in the same day [double-header] and that was that). But really, that was far and away my favorite season of baseball. Because there was zero pressure for me (in the past I'd been a JV spot starter, got to start full time as a senior), I was seeing the ball well that season and had a pretty productive year on the whole.MLB: Minnesota Twins

Any way I can develop a "like" system for automatic text messages replies?
This would reduce the amount of people you offend by not replying. A simple automatic response indicating you received the text instead of sending a worthless reply.
I get the "did you get my text?"
My response... "Yeah I did. I didn't realize it was a question for me to answer."

Re: Off Topic 2013
I don't think this post will be "out of bounds" on O.S., but if so, please delete it.
That being said, I just had to spill this.
When I spent three years working in law enforcement, there was this attorney we referred to as "The DUI slumlord."
He was awesome. If I had ever received a DUI, he would by far be my first choice to represent me.
There were many, many times I faced him the courtroom where he got 3rd, 4th, 5th, sometimes 6 time offenders off the hook. The "victories" he had were all about technicalities like the nurse that took the blood test and her training, or our equipment, etc... Things like that.
I even remember one time I had arrested a guy for DUI for the 3rd time in as many months. He even had his 7 year old with him after he just got done picking him up from school!
Anyways, this guy spent a lot of time practicing law in the area and getting a lot of habitual drunkards off the hook so they could be back out ASAP endangering everyone else.
So, about a year ago he made his way into office. I only have dealt this man for approximately 2 years and haven't heard from him since I left the department.
Now, I read in the news that he is actively fighting for tougher DUI laws (which is a good thing here) and just making all this noise about how harmful driving drunk can be etc...
Obviously he's in politics now and he wants the public to think highly of him, but it just humors me, very much so actually, that a man that dedicated 20 some years of his life to springing some of the worst drunks in that area of the state is now taking a radical new stance against the very thing he was seemingly "for" for many years.
And I don't buy the "He's seen the damage drinking and driving has done and wanted to change" garbage either.
Had he not gotten elected he would still be raking in fat stacks of cash downplaying the actions of his clients.
It's just funny to me to hear/see him say that. And I think he was actually a pretty good guy (you know, like other than business-wise) after all was said and done, so I have no ill will towards him.
But it's just comical at how people can change what they stand for, their morals, their beliefs, their thoughts depending on the position they're in.

Re: Off Topic 2013
I hate how casually most people treat drunk driving. Had two friends in high school die in an accident involving a drunk driver.
People would take it more seriously if you couldn't get out of it like it was a parking ticket.Ryan Spencer

Re: Off Topic 2013
Threw my back out today somehow. Hurts to move, and even nodding my head sends horrendous pain down the right side of my back, it's very awkward. I don't have health insurance (and don't feel like going to the VA.)
I might be able to find some meds to knock me loopy though.badComment

I have a coworker who killed someone while drunk driving.
He tried to be like "I was in jail for awhile. I accidentally killed someone while drunk driving, I didn't, you know, murder someone."
"Yeah, you did." was what I wished I could have said.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn
