Funny story. That brand new truck I bought? Dosn't have a CD player! I didn't notice until yesterday when I finally had a chance to get in it and check it out (My wife drives the truck cause I commute everyday). So, no CD player. Instead it has this USB thingy you use to plug in your fancy pants phone or music player thingy.... Talk about disappointed...

Another not so funny story. We drove 120 miles after work to buy that truck. Then another 120 home. It was the longest time I've gone without a drink since, well I can't remember. /notproudbutwhatever

I didn't notice until yesterday when I finally had a chance to get in it and check it out (My wife drives the truck cause I commute everyday). So, no CD player. Instead it has this USB thingy you use to plug in your fancy pants phone or music player thingy.... Talk about disappointed...

I got my first new car in over 20 years this past summer; 2012 Civic. It does have a CD player, and a USB connection in the center armrest compartment. I always pooh-pooh'ed iPods as a music purist, but after trying a hand me down iTouch on that I completely changed direction lol. The sound is certainly good enough to where I don't pine for my cds. Playback on a home hi-fi system is another matter, but we're talking convenience and a louder environment here for the car.

Now I have a new iPod Classic (160GB) that I use just for the car. I put damn near every cd I have on it, plus several albums I downloaded from iTunes and still have 120 gigs free. I'm like

Love the convenience of having my whole CD collection (and then some) right at my fingertips in my car. No more trying to change cd's while I'm driving or having to pick cds for road trips!

Yeah it's really cool. So I have my iTunes on my work pc, my iPod, and a backup on an external HDD.

You should have seen my face when I put several thousand songs to the iPod and it didn't even blink at me lol. Stuff like the entire catalogs of Led Zep, Yes, Beatles, Dire Straits, Pearl Jam, REM and Rush and the iPod just says ' Pfft...Is that all??'
