Re: Off Topic 2013
All joking aside though, I truly believe the band "The Wallflowers" were a very underrated band.
I mean they wrote songs that shaped a generation!
The Beatles they are not, but these guys were huge back when I drank out of little milk cartons and was still allowed in music class.
The lyrics are hard to decipher, but they're almost mesmerizing to where you don't think of that.
Anyone else remember them?

Re: Off Topic 2013
lolol just found this now...there's a picture of me on a Penn State news site. The article is about an entirely different thing so I have no idea why they used it, but lol nonetheless.
I don't know whether to be impressed or disgusted, but this one takes some effort. As first reported by The Daily Collegian (no link because the story didn't run online) and then called out by The School Philly, a Penn State student was cited by police three separate times for three different incidents on State Patty's Day this year all in a matter of about five hours.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
It's almost 3:30am, I've got to work in the morning, and I can't sleep..
So I'll rant in OT for a minute on some **** that's on my mind.
Part I
I'm trying to nail down a favorite NHL team, but I don't want to pick someone who's hot right now and be labeled as a bandwagon fan, but what's someone to do when they don't have a local team and they are trying to find a team that's interesting to follow more closely ? I naturally gravitate towards The Kings and The Lightning because I like both LA and Tampa as sports cities and two of my favorite sports franchises are in these cities.
Part II
I think Weeds is an okay show. I watched Seasons 1-5 in a marathon a few years ago and even though things get a little wild after S3, I was still interested in the characters and just how wacky the show is.
I quit watching for a long time and I just watched Seasons 6 and 7 on Netflix and even though it's not a high budget show, I still find myself struggling to stop going on to Season 8. Again, I guess it's just the natural crazy all over the place storyline that I like about it.
I also developed a celebrity crush on a chick that plays someone named "Emma" in the 7th season and me being my bored self at 3:30 am I grabbed the Vita and did a google search to find out that Michelle Trachtenberg (yeah, I copy and pasted that ****) is also the girl from Eurotrip. She's still lacking up top, but she looks much better with the darker hair.
Spoiler
Part III
What the **** do you people who are up at this hour typically do besides game and watch TV ? No one is awake. I used to stay up all hours of the night when I was younger and I still have some weekend nights where I don't sleep much, but on week days I'm usually in bed by at least 1am. I did have a few late nights with the girlfriend when we first started dating. I didn't sleep for like three days at first because of work and late nights with her.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the Blzer esque long mother****ing post. Maybe I can crash after getting this off my mind. I doubt anyone is up to read it.Last edited by AUChase; 03-28-2013, 04:39 AM.Comment

You nailed it with game and TV. This time of night is when I get most of that stuff in. Also, I research any topic I find interesting. Great way to pass the time.
Thanks, insomnia.
Edit: For instance, here's something interesting I learned tonight that may interest old-school RPG fans.
One of the greatest RPGs ever, Xenogears, was originally submitted by director Tetsuya Takahasi as one of the potential plots for Final Fantasy VII. Interestingly enough, it was rejected by others at Squard as they saw it as being too dark and complicated for a fantasy game. Final Fantasy VII, as we know, was truly the first Final Fantasy to take a dark and more ominous tone - so the fact that Xenogears was rejected for the very same reasons is kind of odd. Obviously, Xenogears went on to be one of the more acclaimed RPGs ever released.
Takahasi then made his own software company and put out the Xenosaga games and also, probably the best reviewed RPG of this generation, Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii (which he decided to adopt a "more mature writing style" according to him. As if Xenogears and Xenosaga wasn't mature enough.)
Literally, the RPGs this guy has worked on can be seen as a "What's what" of the greatest Square RPGs ever. Final Fantasy 4/5/6/7, Romancing SaGa, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears and then he branched off to his own company.
Is it useless? Yup. Is it interesting? Very much so, to me.Last edited by ubernoob; 03-28-2013, 05:41 AM.badComment

Re: Off Topic 2013
When it comes to an NHL team, the Kings or Lightning would be pretty good choices. But if you don't want to be considered a bandwagon fan, then IDK about the Kings considering they just won the Stanley Cup last year.
IMO though who really gives a ****? Like who you want to like. If it just so happens to be a team that's really good right now, so what? As long as you're not flip flopping teams all the time or bailing when the good times aren't so good anymore, I don't see a problem with it. And even then, the same thing applies. There are no official rules or laws for choosing what sports teams to root for.
I can relate to having the problem of not having any kind of attachment to any team but wanting to root for one in that league. The best thing I can suggest is just watch games and see what team interests you most. If you start finding yourself caring when a certain team loses then there's your team.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. Re: Off Topic 2013
When I stay up at all hours of the night i'm usually reading a blog or comic books. Sometimes I end up watching videos on youtube or watching a movie. I find I can't really get into watching a movie unless it's at night.
Of course there's that massive collection of sports DVDs I have as well. Over the last couple weeks i've gone through just about the entire 1993 NLCS.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

When I used to stay up that late it was usually to game. A couple summers ago me and one friend would stay up and play xbox all night and sleep all day. We would both be on playing Bad Company 2 or MW2 till 6 or 7am every night, then go to sleep till 2 or 3pm and do it again. A few other friends would join us here or there but no matter what it was us two every night.
Also when I first got netflix I would stay up all night watching episode after episode of Prison Break because I just could not stop watching it. I did the same with Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy until I caught up with where they were. I would sit down every night at 11 or 12 and tell myself I'm only watching two episodes then going to bed, then I proceeded to watch 5 or 6 episodes instead.
Now though I don't really game much and I'm all caught up on the shows I watch. So anymore I sleep at reasonable times. Midnightish-6:30am on weekdays and like 1am-ish to 10am-ish on weekends. The only time I pull an all nighter any more or stay up till 4 or 5am is if I'm at a party or something which is about every other weekend.Comment

I'm the king of not watching movies everyone else raves at me about, but even I've watched Independence Day more than once. Isn't watching that movie a requirement of American citizenship?Comment
