Just talk about it I guess. My gf has been legit mad because I cut her off and paid for something. She won't be talking hardly a few minutes later and I'll say, "So, what's bothering you ?". Then she went on to voice her displeasure about me not letting her pay for a soda in the gas station.

Truth be told, i only did it to get out of there faster.

Basically just talk about it but if you want to avoid any arguments than an idea is to come up with some kind of structure like you pay for certain things like the electricity bill or groceries etc etc. That way it's equitable and both know what they're responsible for.

Speaking of relationships, my GF and I are officially done. There'll be no hope for things turning around. There's just too much difference of opinion on matters that finally came to a head. At least we're still friends and regularly. I mean how can I not? I've been with her for 16 months! I just feel bad that it had to end that way.

This is a good question. Sorry I don't have an answer. I've been with my wife so long I can't remember how this went. But I remember, when we were first married, she paid everything while I worked part time and went to school. Then when I landed the big job we moved out of our apartment and I took over the house payments. Now I pay everything and she pays daycare. We have a joint checking account. So I guess our finances just kind of "evolved" as our relationship has gone on.
The one thing I know was an issue was my game buying habits during the PS2 era. I bought every new game that came out. That caused countless arguements. Looking back, for obvious reasons. The kids needed new shoes, clothes, etc... and we'd be kinda strapped. But I had GTA San Andreas and the newest Madden to play.
Fortunately for me I get most of my games free now. So that hasn't been an issue for some time.

Hey, I've said before that a couple kids will catch a stiff arm.

It's gotten to a point when I talk to the kids in trouble, I just tell them it's too late in the year for this ****.

Ha, that's hopefully further down the line.

I would just be happy having her take me out once in a while. The trip this weekend we are splitting down the middle so I'm probably making it worse in my head than its gonna be.

We don't really have a concrete way of dealing with our financials. Currently, we pay our personal bills separately. Rent, utilities, cable we split. Groceries we just try to make it equal... She'll buy dinner stuff a few times and then I'll go a couple of times. I'm pretty good with cooking and doing the grocery shopping, and she obviously is too being a female. Lol

It's just a mutual thing. And if I'm strapped for cash or vice versa, no problem with helping out for something. We usually say we'll pay back but it typically just means next one is on me. Besides the times when we really need the money replaced.

We have a joint account and also our own accounts. I'm not really worried about her spending money, she's not one of those shopaholic types, but sometimes I cut my finances pretty tight so I like to know what's in my account is mine. Adding her money and her bill schedule would be pretty hectic and I don't want her to come up short because I miscalculated my finances.

We've been together for a long while now so the whole me paying for her unexpected doesn't really happen. She's always been a worker and pretty independent financially so it's never been an issue.

Well, she paid for the room and tickets. I paid for gas and meals. I'll talk to her about it tonight I guess though I'd rather talk to her face to face.

Good luck man, those talks rarely end up going anywhere for me. A good fight is healthy anyway.

Well, if I don't fix the problem now its not gonna get fixed in the future and if she likes me then she'll make more of an effort and if she doesn't well I think I will bounce back.

She does make significantly less than me, but its not about the "amount" its about the expectation and the effort.

I was w/ you until the second part. If she makes a lot less than you, that's a whole other situation IMO.

I understand that, but don't invite me to come along to things and stand there and wait for me to pay. Its not like she doesn't buy things for herself and her family.
