People at work just don't get it.

We don't have enough ventilation to be in here cooking tilapia on a George Foreman.

Using the gas grill outside is a totally different story

Nothing in sports is more valuable than an elite NBA player. The 5 or so teams that have them have a huge competitive advantage. That combined with a playoff system that's actually designed to ensure the best teams win and you get a lack of parity.

I'm ok with this. I prefer a system that leans towards making sure the best teams, over the regular season, have an advantage in the playoffs over the luckbox that is the mlb/nfl/ncaa playoffs (I know nothing about Hockey and Soccer). Too each it's own though.

There are some teams out there who just don't have any decent talent and then those who are stuck somewhere in the middle where they are winning enough games not to get a decent draft pick.

It's tough to build a team without free agency much like the Thunder have.

Damn near impossible. Sam Presti's draft luck will go down in history. Damn near all of his moves outside of drafting those 4 guys have been sketchy.

The NBA could easily cut 6 teams. It'll never happen though.

Hockey's pretty much the same exact system as the NBA had when the division winners were guaranteed top 3 seeds and they went to all 7-game series. It's changing with some upcoming realignment.

Most top soccer leagues don't even have playoffs. You just play every team home and away, and the team that accumulates the most points wins the league.

I took a baseball to the chin last night.

I was hitting in the cage before our game, and we didn't set our machine up, so one of my teammates was throwing to me. Well, he wildly missed and it came up and hit me right in the jaw.

Which is why the idea of Seattle getting their team via expansion is one I don't particularly like.

Yeah, but the fish falls apart when you cook it and it'd all break apart and fall through the grates on a regular grill unless you had foil or something under it. When I cooked walleye on my Foreman grill, it came off in about 20 pieces.

Which is why the idea of Seattle getting their team via expansion is one I don't particularly like.

Heard a report a few months ago that Stern is interested in putting a team in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh hasn't had a major basketball team since the ABA's Pittsburgh Condors though we did have a CBA team back in the 90's.

Where would they play? The CEC?

Was referencing the NCAA men's basketball tournament. IMO, playing a 35 game season and then using a single elimination tournament to determine your champion is dumb. Variance is way to high in sports to let one game derail an entire season.
