Ya. I'd have thought NHL would've been 1st, but still crazy to see how much of a difference NBA is compared to other sports.Comment

Since it's a sports forum, thought people would find this fact crazy to hear(regarding NBA compared to rest of sports)
In past 34 years:
MLB has had 19 diff franchises win World Series
NHL has had 16 diff franchises win Stanley Cup
NFL has had 15 diff franchises win Superbowl
NBA has had 9 diff franchises win NBA FinalsOriginally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

When you think about it, how many times does the team that is considered the best actually win the World Series?Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: Off Topic 2013
Baseball is probably the most random of sports in terms of performance from game to game and they weed out its first few teams with a best of 5 game series. It really makes no sense when you think about it. The NHL is next in randomness and there is always the hot goalie possibility. That is why you see a lot of different champions.
The NFL has true parity in the sense that only a terrible front office is going to prevent you from making the playoffs every few years.
The NBA is by far the worst when it comes to long-term parity. How many teams realistically have a chance going into a season of winning a title? 3-4? And it seems to cycle through the same teams.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 06-04-2013, 10:34 AM.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
The irony of it all is people bitch and moan about lack of parity in all sports, then when two small market or non-traditional teams get into the championship, no one watches or cares.Ryan Spencer

Re: Off Topic 2013
I'd say the majority of people that bitch and moan about small market teams not getting in (which in the NBA is never) are the ones that ACTUALLY watch when it happens.
It's the majority of bandwagon jumpers/casual fans that decide not to tune in.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Bandwagon jumpers/casual fans make up a large percentage of the viewing public. NBA Finals ratings would take a huge hit if Miami lost last night.Comment
