Because that isn't how capitalism works.. By that logic every billionaire living in the USA could donate a billion dollars and every millionaire could donate a million dollars. Rich people would move out the USA with the quickness.

Besides if every american got a million dollars after taxes, I guarantee 90% of the people would be broke in a year or two because they wasted all their money ballin out. Just look at all these former lottery winners and sports players, who are now broke.

Give a man a fish, he will eat for that day, teach him how to fish he will eat for the rest of his life. Same thing applies to money.

give a man a million dollarsh each year he' be able to afford some professiomal fishing classes..

I am about the farthest thing from an economist, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong. But if everyone was suddenly a million dollars richer, wouldn't goods and services become that much more expensive because people have less incentive to work if they have a million extra bucks lyin' around.

lol, I saw something on Jimmy Kimmel today(was some special airing before NBA Finals) and they were asking people on the streets of LA about if Lakers are gonna win NBA finals(the question was asked earlier in the day) and everyone was saying they would. One even said they'd win the stanley cup. I don't know if that segment was scripted or not(meaning they just told people they interviewed what to say), but if those were real people......LA sucks lol

It gets complicated, but not necessarily. It's not as if the US is printing $300 million to hand out to people. This would be coming from a lottery which is funded by money that's already on the market. It would do weird things to the market, good and bad, I'm sure. But I don't think it would devalue the dollar anymore than time does.

after seeing that florida lady who won the largest powerball ever at 590 million with the cash option of 370 milli, it got me thinking.... why cant they use the powerball as like a stimulus.. as of 2011 there were 311 million and some change in the usa thats a lil over a million dollars a person...
