There are some really nice places actually downtown, but might be out of your price range. 55 West, Solaire at the Plaza, Aspire Apartments are all around the Thornton park area, but a little closer to downtown. Very nice, area. Clean and safe and lots of nightlife with in very reasonable walking distance.

Personally, with traffic, and I-4 being a mess, I would stay directly out of downtown. At least I did. I lived in Heathrow, which was about 15 minutes north of Colonial Drive which is the start of Downtown. You would find apartments in a better price range in that area.

College Park is a decent area with a younger demographic. I would stay away from University Park though.
I'd say probably $1,300/month on the high end, ideally closer to $1,000. Not sure yet what the position would pay, we're still in preliminary discussion. Just need a one bed/bath, since it would just be me.

I'd be working from home, but need to be at Wide World of Sports frequently so I'd like to be no more than a 30-ish minute drive from there ideally.

I do like the idea of living in downtown though. When I was in Kansas City I lived about 15-20 minutes outside of the city, and even though I did go into the city frequently I feel like I missed out on the opportunity to experience so much more.

The thing about downtown Orlando is that the Traffic is worse than Miami. (I'm speaking from personal experience from living in both cities.) I-4 is usually bump-to-bumper from about 6am to 9pm. A drive that would normally take you 20 mins, takes about 1hr during 6am-9pm.
if your going to be working around the Disney area, I'd probably suggest looking around the St. Cloud/ Kissimmee area. $1,300 would get you a really nice place in that area and your commute to work would be shorter aswell. Downtown Orlando's nightlife really isnt that great, most people drive to Ybor City(Tampa Area) to go "clubbing".

My mom's funeral is today, and I've never been to one in my life. I'm running late already, and I don't know how I'm going to take it.

        Any tips, guys?

I've already figured out that you shouldn't say the natural response of "it's alright" when someone says "I'm sorry for your loss" (SMH at me) so I'll be good there when 50 people are saying it to me.

But what about at the lunch? My dad said I should go around and mingle with people because they are all there for my mom but through me and my dad. Idk.

I over think things all the time and this is one of those times

Just do what comes naturally. You aren't there to handle others feelings.

When I lost the person closest to me in my family (my grandmother whom I take after quite a bit) her funeral was huge. I don't know how everyone in the city seemingly knew her but they did. Just say whatever comes naturally, if it's "thanks, it's alright" so be it. I said something along those lines. The last thing on anyone's mind is going to be judging you by what you say in passing to them.

Talk to who you want to talk to, don't go out of your way and just try to be relaxed. As much as I hate to say it, if there's people there you really like that you don't get to see that often it's a good time to catch up once the original shock that "hey, we're all at a funeral" dies off.

I've been to a few funerals for family deaths... I was younger, though, so people didn't really say much to me besides telling stories and such.

Really, there isn't much standard. You're laying to rest a loved one. The emotions range. If you wanna sit by yourself for a bit, no ones gonna judge you. If ya wanna mingle, same thing.

I personally lose it when it's a viewing. This person is there physically, but they aren't alive. It's a very difficult moment for me. I can suppress tears and stuff until then, that's when it flows freely. When it really hits me.

Dog, you don't have to take care of anybody but yourself and your family. Let those who attend comfort you and help you - that's why they're there. Just do whatever you feel like doing. Don't force yourself to do something because of some type of protocol. People will understand.

Apparently my city/town has the only recreation of Shakespeare's Black Friars Theatre in the world. Weird place for it, but I finally checked it out last night and it was pretty damn cool. We sat up in the balcony in the front of the stage.

We saw Henry VIII. The play was great, but the best part was right before they started Henry came out and sang Henry the 8th I am. It was mofo-in' glorious.

So 4 of us are playing Civilization on PS3, getting into some crazy debates as to how we act as Japan is on the verge of winning technologically, etc.

Of course I have the most experience with these games and no one listens to my ideas and when they do they work.
