My fiancee just asked me to explain SQL to her, and she's applying for a job where Python may be needed.

They're technically not the focus, but damn, still weird. Anyway, time to sharpen my skill-sword (especially if she gets positions like that).

You Might Be From Chicago If:

1. The 'living room' is called the 'front room'.
2. You don't pronounce the 's' at the end of Illinois and, you become irate at people who do.
3. You measure distance in minutes (especially 'from the city')
9. You eat your pizza in squares, not triangles, and you never refer to it as 'pie.'
12. You have drunk green beer on St. Paddy's Day.
13. Stores don't have sacks, they have bags.
14. You end your sentences with an unnecessary preposition. Example: 'Where's my coat at?' or 'Can I go with?' My English teacher had fits with this one.
16. You carry jumper cables in your car.
17. You drink 'pop'- not soda.
28. You think 45 degrees is great weather to wash your car.
34. You understand what 'lake-effect' means.

Definitely don't think a lot of these apply to just being from Chicago. The ones above you can find pretty much everywhere.

All actual Chicago Deep Dish pizza's I've seen are in triangles. Just like Bighoff said.

And nobody I've ever met pronounces the S on the end of Illinois. I think that's pretty much common knowledge.

As a member of prom committee I feel obligated to get kids to come to prom. I've been threatening some. We're on good pace to have more there than last year.

It's a great idea as I still have the same long list of games to beat that I had earlier as I actually had to do a **** ton of stuff this semester opposed to the past where I didn't show up and the class only had 3 grades.

Will be up in Tally for a 6 week summer session, then after that i'll just be bored in Tampa playing games, catching up on TV shows, an online class and the pool.

Nice. I have a shelf in my entertainment console solely dedicated to my video game queue. For now it is has:

The Witcher 2
Alan Wake
Sleeping Dogs
Dragon's Dogma
FarCry 3 (took a break from it - almost finished)
Tomb Raider: Under World
Splinter Cell (gamecube)
NBA Street Vol 2. (GC)

Plus, I have Dishonored I'm working through. Also dicking around in Saboteur with plans to start Fallout 3 and/or Bioshock 1 soon.

I think I can handle two games at once - maybe one to just dick around in and another one to actually go through the story-line with.

Plus, I still want to pick up Dues Ex, Hitman, Tomb Raider, and Ghostbusters.

But we'll see.



In non-nerd news the little lady wants to go to the Biltmore in a couple weeks. We're trying to decide if we want to stay 1 day or pay the extra $$ and stay two days.

Dude that queue is massive, lots of gaming hours in there. I gotta say, if you like open world RPGs, dragon's dogma was amazing. I was hooked on that game for a while.
