Wow, that's a great deal. Wonder why so cheap?

We're staying at Treasure Island and I think it ends up being close to $100 a night which to me was a pretty solid deal.

My buddy told me that if you gamble at the hotel you are staying at, there is a 99% chance that your rooms will be comped for the entirety of your stay.

He just went last October and still has 3 free days leftover after staying 4.

I have breakfast duty in the morning, which means I sit there w/ 4 other teachers and make sure the kids don't kill each other.

Well today I hear a gong. Yes, a gong. I immediately look up b/c my mind has been trained to expect the lights to go out when I hear that sound.

I hear it again and Undertaker's music starts playing. A student next to me goes "What the hell?". Two other students and I are looking around and this kid slowly walks up the steps in the cafeteria wearing a hood over his head. He had Undertaker's song blasting from his phone.

Funnies **** I've seen during breakfast.

I woulda been scared ****less. He would get in so much **** at the school I went to for that.

Edit: In my mind im picturing this happening in pitch blackness in a cafeteria, as my HS' cafeteria was in a basement so lights off left very little visibility.

No no. The lights were on. Afterwards the 2 students who were next to me, we discussed how much better it would've had he told us in advance. We would've cut the lights on and off for him while loaning him a black robe.

Yeah, if I go and feel like gambling more than a few dollars here and there I'll stay at the Gold Nugget downtown. They do an excellent job of taking care of their customers. Here's a picture of the e-mail they sent - and the rooms you get at Mandalay are honestly some of the best (size and comfort) wise of any of the normal rooms in Vegas.



Big bed, stand alone shower, big tub (big enough for 2 people), TV in the bathroom and its like a 650/700 sq ft room. We were gonna stay at the Venetian, but can't pass that deal up.

I feel bad for Desmond Jennings. That would be traumatizing for me, especially if the pitcher got severely hurt. Good to hear that Happ is being released with only minor injuries (for something like this)

I know there has been talk about protecting the pitchers in some way.
Im not sure how they can do it short of what they do in little league.
In little league, the pitchers wear a sort of a clear face mask like you often see in HS/College Softball.

Either that or maybe a reinforced hat like Jackie Robinson wore when he played before helmets.
I dont see an actual helmet working for them or even a face mask. Its never a good idea to impede the vision of any player in any position.

Very scary and the main reason of many I refuse to let my son pitch.

Yeah. I remember in high school we had a JV-Varsity scrimmage (using JV pitchers to pitch to the JV and varsity to the varsity) and a JV kid hit a liner right back at the pitcher that hit him right in the head. One of the scariest things I've ever seen, but fortunately he was all right. I honestly don't think that there is much that can be done about it. Part of the game unfortunately. I certainly don't think the face mask is a good idea for the exact reason you mentioned, but the reinforced hat is a good idea. But like I said, I'm not sure there's much you can do to stop it.

In our staff meeting the accountant that does the investments is giving his update. Boss asks "What's the new Wells Fargo agent's name that we're dealing with?" With a straight face he says, "Bob Sacamano". I lost it.

She started to write the name down and we had to explain that there really wasn't a new one yet.
