So a proper OT post.....
I discovered archives of Peanuts (the strip) from the very beginning. Charlie Brown sure was a bit different back in the old days. Actually, there are a lot of similarities between the proto-Charlie Brown and Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes fame. I wonder if Watterson knew of said similarities when he created his character or if it was somewhat of a tribute in some way.
Anyways, some of the old strips were pretty good and one was downright sad even compared to latter day Charlie Brown as in this strip he mourns his loneliness and has nothing to do and calls the telephone operator and asks her to tell him a story.
