House keepers in dorms is definitely not the norm.

I guess I'm curious how you could know this?

How many colleges did you go to that you could make this claim? I thought it was weird until I found out that every college in my area (and there were at least a dozen small colleges in the area) had them.

That sounds like what the housekeepers will be doing for me, only deal with the bathrooms, I won't have a living room or kitchen and they're probably not allowed in the rooms

They're not coming in our room and taking out the trash.

Just cleaning the bathroom. Probably half-assed, too. Which, you know, respect.

Yeah, we still took out the trash from our rooms, though they did take out the recycling in the main lobby of the cluster which isn't really all that unexpected considering how green UW is. And the guy vacuumed the lobby didn't even really help that area at all since people didn't like to clean up after themselves half the time.

We had to do everything else in there though.

Went to three schools (liked traveling), each one had housekeepers. I think it's pretty normal.

Not the norm to the college I went to, my sisters went to, my brother went to, my nieces went to or any of my cousins or my friends kids that are in college now.

So in total that is around 70 or 80 different colleges spanning the west coast, south, midwest, and east coast.

And before somebody says wow that is a lot of colleges, how many damn cousins does GMSS have. I will break it down.

1. My father is one of 22 kids
2. My mother is one of 13 kids.

Each child on average had 5 kids a piece, with some having 10 to 12 kids a piece. Each child had no less then 2 kids. So I have over 200 1st cousins.

Currently have 20 younger cousins in college right now, 15 older cousins kids are in college right now, my youngest niece is in college right now, my younger brother was just in college, and 6 of my high school friends oldest child is in college.

So in a nut shell, I just based my opinion off of that. Since none of them had house keepers that clean their dorm room. Dorm room cleaning was extra money for the colleges they all went to.

Dayum you have one big *** family. I have one first cousin. I have a few others but I have no idea who they are as they are older and from my mom's brother's wife's first marriage.

I couldn't imagine ever living in a dorm. It's repulsive in probably every single possible way I could think of.

I'm thoroughly cool with "missing out on the college experience." At least I never had to deal with the filth, the shared bathrooms, the loud and annoying people doing stupid **** all the time regardless of time of day, the idiots raiding your food and drinks...etc

I'm with you Matrix.

I had plenty of fun with people who worked out of HS or went to community college. And our friends who came back. I only regret actually getting the education.

You know how they always say that your best friends for life come from college. Definitely not true amongst my closest friends and that second tier level of friends I have. There's not one college friend of any of theirs that I see come around when we all go out and do stuff. Probably because majority of my friend went to the university 20 minutes away and besides the locals most of the kids were snobby douche punks from NY or NJ. So they all stuck within their familiar groups.

Haha, you just gotta get out of that area. I don't know why UD attracts so many of them. There's plenty of good colleges, well in NY at least, in their own states. Is it really worth the out-of-state tuition to go to UD? I know it's reputable but damn. It's those ****ing rich kids who think they're the **** that gotta go. I'm sure you know regular DE folk (the ones WITH teeth) are pretty decent people.

Yea, I'm here for a Ph.D., but why so many of them are here, I don't know. There are too many people that live around me that drive Audi's, BMW's, and what not that are obviously Mommy and Daddy's cars, and they think they are the ****. I don't have to deal with them that much unless I teach, and then you definitely don't want to know them.

Yes, the actual ones from around here are just fine. All the ones from NY, NJ, and Massachusetts, well I haven't met many I would like to speak to again.

New leader in the clubhouse for funniest angry person I've called at work. Some old black guy from Mississippi. I gave him my opening spiel and he goes: "Boy, you just woke the ******* dragon. **** off and kill yourself!"

Can't help but laugh at people like that. Plus it makes then even angrier when you laugh at them when they say stuff like that
