Humidity is what kills me. I know VA is a lot more moderate than further South, but the last two weeks have not been fun.

Yea, you went to the wrong place if you don't like heat. People here hate me because I'm from the Midsouth and last week when it was 95 and humid, didn't bother me one bit.

I need to get to Canterbury again soon. Haven't been there in ages.

Especially since the casino pumped all that money into the place. Brand new video board on the track, and bigger purses (which = better racing, obviously).

Thursdays are dollar night, too. Dollar admission, dollar hot dogs and beverages (except beer unfortunately, haha). Talk about cheap entertainment!

I have Northwest blood, so I'm happy when it's grey, 40's, and drizzling. Hell, I'd even grump about 'hot' days in Seattle during the summer. Summer sucks (though that's more for the Uncommon Opinions thread ). However, I'm here because I moved out here to be with my wife.

In some ways, the South has grown on me though. After 10 years...I'm just starting to take an interest in college football, for example LOL.

Heading to the salt tomorrow to chase some redfish. Hook up and leave at 4am, hit the spot by 6am and have a limit of reds before Noon. Then going to bounce to the beach and chase specks! Oh the life of a south Louisiana outdoors man!!!! :wink:

It felt really nice when I first left for work this morning. I actually had to roll my passenger side window up because I had a little chill.

It's starting to heat up now. We have been really fortunate so far. I don't think the heat index has got into the triple digets yet, which is amazing. It's probably because it's been raining every other day.

Pretty much got rained out on the 4th of July.

I wanted to jump in the lake as soon as I woke up this morning. That used to be my gameplan for getting over a night of drinking during the summer

This may sound redneck, but I actually keep soap down on the dock at the lake. We have bathrooms in the actual house with working showers, but there are times where I just want to soap up a little and then dive in the lake.. lol.

The Birmingham Barons are "so so", but they are playing at the brand new Region's Field downtown and it's really, really nice.

They were playing at the Hoover MET (where the SEC Baseball tournament is held), but it made no sense for them to be so far away from downtown.

I don't mind when it is grey and rainy. It was like that almost everyday my last fall in Akron. They'd also complain when it was too hot, but sometimes it was justified; humidity there could get really terrible.

I know about the moving for a wife. My girlfriend is in Colorado and keeps trying to get me to move out there sooner, but I go wherever I get a job so that's how that goes.

And it took that long for you to get into college football??? And you even had UW before. That's just... disappointing. But you are catching on at least! Hopefully not catching on to the Rebels, though. Disgusting, foul creatures.

Tonight sounds like as good of a time as any to go. I get off at 5:30, games at 7 and I'm 15 minutes from the stadium.

Maybe I can get someone to meet me if I buy two tickets.
