My family has atrocious grammar and english.

"Wash" is pronounced as "warsh"
"Orange" is pronounced as "oyenge"

Yesterday I had to explain to my mother that y'all is a contraction for you all. If I correct them politely, I get a dirty look. I guess it is where they grew up always saying things, and they don't want to change.

Given the logo next to your name, "warsh" is 100% correct. Saying words with an accent is not necessarily incorrect either. Lots of people say orange differently.

I really feel for you about all the drama that goes with this...but it sounds like you both saved yourselves a lot of money and pain down the road.

I wish you both go on to have happy, fulfilling lives.

Yeah when it first happened 2 weeks ago I was devastated and decided to fight for it.

But the last 24 hours have made me realize this isn't worth fighting for. No need to waste time, money, and energy on this relationship.

Right now I don't miss her but I miss what we had. Realizing that is making it easier. Usually when things like this happen and people take months to move on its because they think they miss the person when they really miss the thought of having someone.

Its not with an accent I can assure that. I know the way my mother says orange is incorrect for sure. As for warsh, you can clearly hear the r, which makes me want to rip my hair out.

But I'm saying that lots of people in this country and across the world say words differently than you would expect because of an accent and it doesn't make it incorrect, grammatically or otherwise. You just need to live up to your WV roots. That's how they say wash there.

Wow, wish I had your level of insight at 26, and I was a 'mature' person at 26. The statement you made is more what would come of someone in their late 30's or 40's at the outro of a long divorce.

...but you are in WV. You are the one out of place :wink: My grandparents lived there for awhile when they were kids. They were saying warsh in the 20's. It's pretty standard in the Appalachians.

So, I watched the movie The Fourth Kind last night . I'm not big into horror-ish movie, but it was pretty good. To a certain extent, I've always believed in aliens even if most of the Ancient Aliens crap is twisted and dramatized.

There's no way we are the only thing living in the galaxy, let alone the rest of space. Science and space are really fascinating to me.

I was expecting to have a really wild dream last night and was let down when I woke up this morning and didn't remember anything

We need an OS talk show.

We could bring his girlfriend in and get her side of the story and then make judgemental boos, while someone like Dayman is asking her questions.

That's what they do to these men on TV. Then you look in the audience and its all women.

Honestly, lying is never cool, but make sure you're not doing something that may influence her to do it, like actually telling her not to do something stupid. No one likes being told what to do. You did sound sort of clingy in the OP and maybe she feels like she has to lie to you to get some space or something. That doesn't excuse lying and it may not be the case. I just try to look at it from everyone's point of view, especially since we only get your side of the story. Good luck, either way. Cross your T's, dot your I's and if you are doing right by her on your end and you feel like its not working, cut ties and move on.

You seem pretty young.

I'm 21 but this is the first girl that I have been steady with for over 6+ months. Its been 11 now and yeah we need to get on the talk show because the story is a long one haha.
