Another Canadian story. Maybe this is one recommendation Americans will want to adopt?

And yes, this is literally not safe for work.

Subway in Ireland has ruled that they cant classify their bread as bread. It has such a high sugar count that it needs to be classified as a baked good.

I know we all remember the yoga mat fiasco with their bread, this one probably isn't surprising either.

I haven't gone to Subway in years, but I always loved their bread. If any regular bakery could make bread that tastes as good as that, I'd buy it all the time and make my own sandwiches that way rather than just buying whatever bread grocery stores have(although the burger breads you can buy taste the same as any fast food chain). But when Subway started charging the price of a pizza for their subs, that's where I drew the line.

love their honey-oat bread, but there are only a couple subways around here that still sell the honey-oat. I'd prefer there be less sugar in it especially since some weeks I'll end up eating there as many as 3 times in a week. I had stopped eating there back in mid-March but the last month or two I've resumed my old habits, except now since I can't get my favorite (roast beef) I've switched to mainly meatball marinara. I keep saying I'm going to find me a new sub sandwich home but Subway is just more convenient than other options I just stand pat

Subway sells convenience for sure. It ain't the quality of the food that keeps people coming back.

This is actually the number three complaint of a couple of my friends from Scotland and Ireland that live here now. All of our bread in this country has too much sugar in it.

Their number two complaint is that sports don’t start at the time it says on the schedule.

Number one is easily the scam that is the health care/insurance system.

I know they're frozen meatballs and crap for ya, but sometimes in a pinch a Subway Meatball Marinara is still good.

Does this mean I can go to an Irish Subway, have my cake and eat it too?

the next thing you know the Irish will be saying you can't call it sugar if it has too much bread innit.
