Re: News that make you say WTF?

Halloween is now super scary for the 4 daycare workers who scared the crap out of children at a Mississippi childcare facility ... because they're now facing felony charges and possible prison time.

not sure why you would do that to little kids, but to be charged with felonies for it?

it's a pretty callous thing to do, but damn

I'm surprised it was Felony Child Abuse since that's usually reserved for physical injuries, but hey, they put themselves in that situation.

A week or two ago a landscaper from my hometown died falling into a wood chipper.

I can't even imagine from anyone's experience during that moment.

Yeah I hate stuff like this, I put myself into the mindset of the person who is about to die, and you know it's gonna happen, and there's nothing you can do about it horrible stuff

I watch the show "I Survived" sometimes, the last one I saw was a guy who got caught in farming equipment and had both arms ripped off, basically only survived because his dog bit his face to wake him up so he could dial 911 with his nose, still barely survived because of the blood loss, his arms were actually reattached, which is crazy to me, but that's another position I put myself in mentally that was tough to think about. Also, dogs are awesome

It's not for sale but are we getting closer? So if you die in the game you

The man who created the Oculus Rift has invented a virtual reality headset that will explode the forebrain of a user who dies in a video game.

Luckey’s killer headset looks like a Meta Quest Pro hooked up with three explosive charge modules that sit above the screen. The charges are aimed directly at the user's forebrain and, should they go off, would obliterate the head of the user.

So with dynamic pricing, that means food will be cheaper at certain times....right?

There's no way this will be a thing, unless all these major chains collude and do it together and force people to pay.

                        Imagine that.

                        "I'd like the burger combo"

                        "Ok, that'll be $19"

                        "I paid $11 yesterday!"

"Yes, you see, you probably came at 3pm yesterday so our prices were different, its now 1pm so its $19."

I'm no entrepreneur or businessman, but shouldn't one of the first rules of business be to clearly define your pricing so that even idiots (I mean...the less informed customers) can understand? In what world does it make sense as a business to have pricing that can differ throughout the day and people have no idea how much they'll be paying for something before they even enter your business.

I heard someone joke in the comments but I'm sadly thinking how some places might actually consider it one day.

What if one day places introduce subscription programs? Imagine something ridiculous like "McDonalds McPlus" that for a $10 a month fee gives you access to lower menu pricing and certain food items only available to subscribers (the McRib is back...only available to McPlus members)

It's stupid for fast food joints to do this but other restaurants have done this since the invention of forks and napkins. My favorite restaurant that I eat at couple times a week is $6 cheaper before 4 p.m.

I get lunch menu, dinner menu and pricing like that.

Some places even have specials/combos after certain late times.

But this seems like way more than that. It'll be different throughout the day based on busy times of the day. And we know how inflation works in today's world, this won't lead to food being cheaper at different times of the day, it'll be "current priced" at late hours and price hiked at busy hours.

                                Tldr version of that:
Avoid car/house damage and possibly getting attacked by just leaving your car keys by your front door (inside your house) so that if someone breaks into your house, they'll just see the keys, steal the car, and leave.
