You're aren't going to bother saying that Eminem is one of, if not the, greatest lyricists in rap? I'm pretty sure that's why he's loved. To say otherwise is ignorant.

Sure he had his cheesy, crappy radio drivel... But he had the best albums ever.

In his prime he was good but he isn't that good anymore. Saying that he had the best albums ever is just ignorant cuz a ton of other rappers had great albums. Not just him

I didn't say they didn't have good albums. I said he had the best. There's a difference.

Didn't he have some crappy albums over the last 10 years?

As an impartial observer and someone who has no interest in rap at all I have to point out the error in your line of thinking.

It's irrelevant what someone has done in the last x amount of years. If someone had one of the best albums ever, it's one of the best albums ever regardless of what they did after that so it doesn't matter what he's done in the last 10 years....

With Eminem, it's not just the often clever lyrical content, but the rhyme and flow. He is one of the best at multisyllabic rhymes. It's all subjective though, of course.

Its all subjective anyway. So the whole argument is inherently flawed.

But on topic, Biggie was a complete beast. In what way is he overrated? (that is to the originator of topic)

East coast bias! Seriously though, Biggie is one of the greats. One of the first rappers whose song catalog I knew front to back.

Well alot of people reign them as the GOATs while there are much better rappers. I name a Rakim, Kool G Rap, MF Doom, O.C., Kool Keith, Method Man and the list goes on and on.

Biggie had couple good albums but was never any special in regards of rhymeschemes etcetera

That's kinda the point. The argument can go on and on.

As a metalhead I'd like to include some examples

                            Exhibit A: Metallica

                            Exhibit B: Korn

                            Exhibit C: Slipknot

Three of my all time favorite bands, all of which experienced serious down stretches after classic albums.
Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika Christensen

I don't understand why being a lawyer is such a respected career.

Some lawyers I really respect but I come across so many who I view as unprofessional.

                                Same with any career really.

Anyway, as much as I love pre-Army days Elvis, I can't with good conscience give him credit for being anything other than the first major packaged pop-star.
