Re: Uncommon Opinions
I see where you guys are coming from. I hate when people push shows as being the best ever when I just am not into it. Mad Men is like that for me. I watched part of an episode and just wasn't into it.
BBT is formulaic and whatnot, but no one bugs me about it at all, so I can just laugh and not really take it seriously.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I've also seen the quote here that it is "blackface for nerds." I can't think of a better way to put it. It's horribly unfunny to me while being extremely formulaic.
The nicest thing I can think to say about the show is that it's got 4 good looking women on it's cast.
mgo - I kind of agree with the Mad Men. I didn't truly enjoy that show (like I do now) until the latter part of the first season. There was a sale at the PX once, with all the DVDs (Season 1-3 when this sale happened) for $10 a season. I bought them all, and while watching the first few episodes I was disappointed in my purchase. I'm glad I kept up with it though.badComment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Either way, the point stands. Who turns on the TV to watch another show at the same time they are watching a show on their laptop? Not really conducive to forming opinions on either, IMO.
Different strokes for different folks.
Now if we are talking sports, multiple TV viewing is acceptable.. Found myself wondering "why is this even a scene, is it really necessary?" and then I just stopped caring.
I watched the first half of season 1 with my undivided attention, then I just felt like watching something more entertainingAaron

I turned other things on after the show started because the show was beginning to. Found myself wondering "why is this even a scene, is it really necessary?" and then I just stopped caring.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Sega's opinion on Nickelback is about the same way I feel about Big Bang Theory. I don't hate it. In fact, I find it enjoyable, but if there's something else on, I won't be watching it. It's kind of a last choice thing if nothing else is on and I want to watch TV. I'm not going out of my way to watch the show, but I will certainly watch if it's on.MLB: Minnesota Twins

Re: Uncommon Opinions
And I know exactly where that shop is located. Every time I pass by, there's a line out the door.
Unfortunately, nothing much to see. The "stars" are almost never actually there unless they're taping, lol.( and then it's closed to the public)
But it's now a tourist attraction, among others in Vega$.
*edit* I may have been thinking of the wrong show. There's so many of them out there...Last edited by Segagendude; 09-26-2013, 06:33 AM.Comment

I hate that show, it's such trash. So are all the "reality" shows on TruTV that are "inspired" by reality, where it's fake.
I know Pawn Stars may not be 100% legit or anything, but at least it's not scripted/planned...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I'm glad I read it because it made me check out Brandon Sanderson's other works when he took over after Mr. Jordan's death. I'm glad I did because he's now my favorite author.
Top 3
1. Brandon Sanderson
2. Robert Jordan
3. Laurell K. Hamilton
On Topic: An uncommon opinion of mine. I find regency era romance novels to be a fun read. Half the fun is reading about the contrived plot that brings the two protagonists into interacting with one another.
That said, I find the realistic levels of bull**** that happen in relationships in Mrs. Hamilton's Anita Blake series fascinating. And even the female protagonist gets called out on her bull****. Often. It's wonderful.
I will say though that Anita Blake is at its best when the plot is at the forefront and the romance takes a backseat. The action is also really well paced and explained clearly. I'd heartily recommend it.Comment
