Lol, never go straight up hot dog. Mustard is always included.

I knew a kid growing up who used to swear by eating cold hotdogs right out of the pack.

    What a foul creature.

No more foul a creature than someone who puts mustard on hot dogs.

I eat mine plain, though it's rare I won't get a hot dog that doesn't have the cheese in it.

      That or brats. Yum brats.

        Mmmmm, cheesey dogs.

When I was a poor college student, I discovered the wonderful world of smoked sausages. The perfect product was such:

        1. Cook smoked sausage in toaster oven
        2. Put cooked smoked sausage on bun, cut a slice of cheese into 1/3's and put cheese on top
        3. Toast the bun and melt the cheese in the toaster oven
        4. Add ketchup
        5. Enter into poor college student Heaven

I ate for like .50 a day on that stuff.

My grandmother use to make my hot dogs up for me when I was little...she'd get a knife and put MAYO all over the open bun, put the dog on it, then mustard and ketchup and cheddar cheese slices.

The mayo and ketchup thing was a problem, but if I ate it I could have apple cobbler LOL.

I like mustard on my dogs, shredded cheddar on them too if available. Nothing else.

As if mayo isn't disgusting enough on its own.

I can honestly say that's the first time I've ever heard of that combo.

I like my hot dogs one of two ways 1) with ketchup and mustard 2) with chilli, cheese and onions.

I do love a classic burger with ketchup, mustard, mayo and dressed with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles, but I can get creative with burgers too.

Case and point, here are my three favorite burgers in the BR area:

BBQ Burger - Half pound beef patty, topped with jack and cheddar cheese melted with jalapenos, bbq sauce, pulled pork and green onions

Uncle Frankie's Burger - Italian burger with pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions, and roasted red pepper marinara. Served dressed with lettuce, tomato, and pesto mayo.

The Flaming Blue - An 8 oz. Ground Chuck Patty plus a 4 oz. New Orleans Hot Sausage Patty topped with Blue/Monterey Jack Cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and dill relish on a sweet jalapeño bun

Growing up my breakfasts was either
egg sandwiches - scrambled eggs, cheese, mayo
fried bologna sandwiches - fried bologna and mayo
syrup sandwiches (for real I used to eat these before Chris Rock made the joke)

This reminds me, over Thanksgiving I ran into my roommate that I had back during my partying days. We got to talking about all the **** we used to make up and I had totally forgot about one...

We used to take about four pieces of bread and toast them, then throw a piece of cheese on each piece and pile that cheap Asparagus that comes in a can on top of each and stack them up like pancakes. We called it "Cheese Toast w/ Asparagus. It was actually pretty good.

Mayo on hot dogs is kind of a Southern thing I guess, I know all my Southern relatives eat it like that. There is a proper name for that style of hot dog, but I can't remember what they call it. They even had it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives before as well.

I thought that was more of a south-western thing.

I have never heard of mayo on a hot dog and I am from NC, GA, VA.

                    I hate mustard. Always have.

Love ketchup, hate tomatoes. ( makes no sense, I know)

I've lived in the North, West and now South. I've never put - or seen anybody put - mayo on a hot dog.

When I was a kid, it was always ketchup and mustard. Now it's strictly mustard and/or chili.

Edit: Segagendude, I'm the same way with ketchup/tomatoes. I love ketchup on my burger and fries. I love tomato soup. I love tomato juice. But I hate tomatoes. It makes absolutely no sense.

I am also in the camp that will eat tomatoes in various forms other than just a plain tomato. They're gross raw by themselves.

It's the opposite with carrots. Raw they're good, but cooking them releases some kind of gross flavor. Same with peas.

It's all about putting coleslaw on your hot dog. Tastes amazing.

I use mustard on my hot dogs with chili and chopped onions.

My favorite is a sausage dog with mustard, banana pepper rings and sweet baby rays. Mouth watering just thinking about it now.
