i have never been on a cruise and i intend to never start. This latest news about the Carnival cruise line stuck in the Gulf of Mexico just validates all my fears of being clustered together with other people stuck at sea. Oh yeah, with limited resources and no way to get off.

Re: Cruises
My wife and I went on the Splender of the Seas for our honeymoon through the Greek Islands. It was a great experience. We had a balcony and I loved it. I cannot wait to go on a cruise again. I highly recommend that if you go on a cruise, get a balcony. We had breakfast every morning and champaign at night on it. It was amazing.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

I like at least having a window...not sure I'd like the interior rooms or not.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Cruises
I love the ocean so I am a fan of cruises. Considering you can get a 5 day in the winter for under $350 it's not that bad at all. If you don't drink then you are set as far as it being all inclusive. Pretty good considering I am paying $800 for a 3 night trip to Cancun for a wedding in October.Comment

That's the nice thing about getting past the point where we want to get drunk lol. Otherwise it can get a little expensive.
Still cheaper than hotels. We were thinking 2-3 nights in Vegas instead and any sort of decent hotel would run us enough where the cruise was a better deal overall.
I really like the food as well, but it helps that I'm not super picky. I could see how food people might not like some stuff.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Cruises
One positive I did hear about cruises though, is that there are ton of eligible females that are ready to get wild.
One of my good friends went on one a couple years ago (I'm pretty sure it was Carnival), and said there were plenty ripe for the picking.
Probably the only thing that could distract me from a possible tidal wave sealing my impending fate. After awhile he goes over, and the other dude is clearly wondering what the heck is going on. Turns out he was the husband, and he had been laid up sick a couple nights, and wifey was out getting it in. I don't know how sick you have to be to not be concerned that your wife is out all night amongst strangers on a ship. I told my wife that I would bet any money they were swingers.
i liked it when the boat was docked.
I got bored of being on the boat really quick.
The food makes you go to the bathroom like 4/5 times a day. not fun.
also next time we go, we are making sure the alcohol is included.
we only went from boston to bermuda and between the 2 of us, we spent $700 on the cruise card."You're on a cruise! You have to relax! Wait here". And my man went and got me a bowl of chocolate ice cream with cake... No gym after that.
Cruises are the best, def most effective way to vacation. I've been on only one cruise (Royal Carribbean) which was a week long spanning PR, St Thomas, DR, and Haiti (was at Royal Carribbean private resort).
I plan on doing a euro cruise or two and another caribbean cruise. Also, while my son is still relatively young (5 currently) I would like to do a Disney cruise.
We were going to do a Disney cruise this year, but pushed it back to next year. I was against the idea of going on a cruise full of kids, but a coworker went, and really sold me on the layout. She went for her honeymoon, and she and her husband brought their kids with them. She said that there were areas that were adult only, and kids had so many activities, that you could go the whole day and not see them (depending on age, of course)Comment

Re: Cruises
My wife and I went on a 7 day cruise back in March of 2011. Sailed on the Norwegian Pearl. We had a pretty good time but both agreed 7 days was a little too long to be on a ship. If we ever do it again we will probably go with a 5 day cruise or something. It was fun though. We went to Samana in the Domincan Republic, Tortola, and St. Thomas Virgin Islands.Comment

Re: Cruises
I think I probably feel worse for the crew who are at the bowels of the ship in even more cramped quarters then the passengers.Comment

Re: Cruises
That is true, in spite of the fact that they get to travel basically for a living. I've only occasionally seen part of the staff out enjoying one of the ports of call.Comment

Re: Cruises
Now that you mention it, I've never seen any of them on the decks, and to be honest, I never even thought about that. I've seen one occasion where my wife and I were on land at an island port and we recognized some of the waiters from the dining room.Comment
