We also lost my father unexpectedly and I can tell you that while the pain never really goes away, it will make you stronger and it does get easier.

Sorry for all the pics...

It was lung cancer. He had other things wrong with him, too... Emphysema... Diabetes... Kidneys... My poor dad.

The tumor basically ate up an artery... All of the blood, from my understanding, was from the artery basically exploding. I am sorry that's graphic, but it's what happened - and my wonderful mom had to experience it.

I think he did suffer a bit, and didn't let on. He went quick, though, so I am thankful for that. He had been cigarette free for 13 months but still developed lung cancer.

He is the most amazing man I know. I am going to get a bill from Mark Zuckerberg for blowing up Facebook today and stealing all the bandwidth... I posted a ton of pictures of him and hundreds of people, literally, grieved with us today.

My heart is shattered, but my dad is always with me... So many people loved and adored him...

The bar has been set... I will continue his legacy.

If anybody on here can understand your pain it is me. I lost my father unexpectedly when I was a freshman in high school. I also just recently lost my 16 year old daughter back in November. The pain is just so much to bear. It just takes over your whole soul.

I'm sorry man.... I really don't know know what else to say.. Your Dad seemed like a good guy and great grandfather from the pics you posted. I agree with you about the tobacco industry as well as cancer. Screw em both. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
