Spelt is an acceptable form for the past tense of the word "spell" in pretty much every English speaking country with the exception of America, in fact, it is acceptable here in America, too, but just not widely used. I think the OP is from Canada, so he is technically correct.

Time yourself. Pick some good examples from notes/book. Write the problems down and time yourself to a reasonable amount of time. It adds pressure and puts you in the "test" environment so to speak.
Another tip, go to class early. Get in there sit down and study. It's proven that you remember things better when you study in the test taking environment.Comment

I got one in a few days and it involves alot of math type stuff, so I hope I can do good on it. This won't be one exam where even if I don't know the answer, I can at least talk my way into part marks. So I hope I'm able to remember all the steps to do.
If I have the textbook with me, I can do the steps, it's just being able to memorize it which is something I've always had problems with.Comment

I found my study habits from high school did not suit me well at university. Of course, I never really studied much at all in high school since the majority of the classes were easy, so my study habits were awful.Comment
