Exactly. As if it wasn't already bad enough.

        Re: Worst Breakup Stories

My first girlfriend broke up with me over the phone. She gave me the, "I think we should just be friends." I responded with, "... what?" And she hung up.

As a freshman in high school, I cried.

The next day in school (she didn't go to my school), my friends somehow found out about the breakup and either comforted me or made jokes about it.

Not really a big deal now, but god, that sucked lol

          Re: Worst Breakup Stories

Junior year of college, I was in a long distance relationship and was way too immature for that at that point. It was just way more "serious" than I was ready for, she was talking about me moving across the country to be with her as soon as I graduated. Had tried to break up with the girl once, but she begged me not too and so then I didn't. But anyways, I had cheated on her. Hadn't told anyone, wasn't exactly proud of it, but one night it's like 2 or 3am and I'm chatting on FB with my best female friend at the time and for whatever reason, I decide to tell her about how I had cheated. So as we're having this discussion, all of a sudden the GF starts blowing my phone up calling non-stop and I'm just ignoring the calls. Start saying to my friend how crazy would it be if she somehow got into my FB and was reading this convo. Finally, I answer. Turns out, that's exactly what happened.

Brief backstory: being a long-distance thing, trust was an issue so I had given her my Facebook and Myspace passwords. When she flipped out on me for messaging a girl from class asking if I could borrow her textbook prior to an exam, I decided to change my password to avoid similar petty fights. Unfortunately, I didn't change the password to the email my Myspace was connected to (they were the same), so she did forgot my password on Myspace, got the new one sent to that email, tried the password on Facebook, and was reading along with my Facebook convo at roughly 5am her time prior to getting ready for class.

So we broke up, the next day a photo album surfaces on Facebook of her tearing up our pictures and setting them on fire. Her and I had since become somewhat friends again, and when she moved to the same side of the US as me, I visited her a couple times and all was amicable and I even attempted to pursue trying things again but that wasn't in the cards. I was going to say that photo album is still on FB, but it looks like she finally removed it. It was still up there last year when we were talking.

          ---

In similar fashion, I had been dating someone for almst 3 years up until about a year ago. I had been mentally "checked out" of the relationship for months, but we lived together so a breakup in the middle of our lease seemed too messy and I had no contingency plan in place. So I had become close friends with a girl and talked to her all the time, but nothing ever materialized there. It was innocent, but I had lied about some things to avoid upsetting the girl before her finals and NCLEX because she was very stressed -- bad move in hindsight, but I thought my heart was in the right place at the time. But anyways, the GF wasn't a fan of us talking and asked me to slow it down or stop. I said I would, but didn't, so 2 weeks later, I'm at work and can tell through texting her that something's up. I get home and there's maybe 6 or 8 pages of phone bill with texts from her number highlighted and saying "WTF??? EXPLAIN THIS ****" (we shared a phone plan). She comes out of the bed room all dolled up, and reads me a speech she had prepared about how I've disrespected the relationship, hurt her, etc so I need to choose. After about 2 minutes of silence I finally said we need to break up. It was not a pleasant scene after that, she stayed with her friends a few days, then we tried to do the roommate thing for the last few months of the lease, but that only lasted a couple weeks before she couldn't take it and moved out. Since then we've...relapsed...a couple of times, and are on friendly terms. I see her every few weeks.

Through those two experiences though, particularly the most recent one, I've seen the repercussions of deceit and now honesty is paramount for me in a relationship. If I feel at all like I have to lie or hide things, I'll talk it out or end it. Thankful that I got learning experiences out of them, but still wish things had transpired differently. Not proud of those moments. Oh well. Holy crap this post got long

If she was from Southlake she had to have been an 8 or better and her parents were loaded anyways.

Had a girl change her facebook status to 'engaged'.

It wasn't me that had proposed...
