To me, the timing of the blasts are strange. It is like the top runners (from all over the world) were not the target. Rather, they were set to go off when really only Americans would be finishing the race.

I don't like to speculate when it comes to people being seriously injured or killed, but this reminds me of the Atlanta Olympics bombing, to a point. No claim of responsibility yet, but it bodes well that the police found intact bombs, as they're easier to work on/trace.

According to Reuters, the Pakastani Taliban(who claimed responsibility for the failed Times Square car bomb attack last year) is denying responsibility...

Unfortunatly with things like this, the blame game is the more discussed topic than the actual people who have been affected. Just the way it is...

Obviously the 'normal' suspects will be dragged into this. The situation with North Korea won't help, I highly doubt it's related to them, but people will look to blame anybody right now. But for all we know this could of been some crazy **** who did this for personal reasons. Just look at Sandy and Colorado....

Either way, 3 people are dead, and many won't have their normal lives back. Hope they bring whoever did this to justice..

I'm watching Mike and Mike they just gave a little background on the 8 year old boy that was killed. The boy and his family were watching the race near the finish line and he had just ran out to hug his father who had crossed the finish line. He ran back to go by his mother and sister, shortly after the bomb went off. His sister lost a leg, mother was hurt bad and of course that same little boy lost his life.
I have a 7 year old son and I'm tearing up as I write this.

Yesterday started as such a wonderful day. My wife and I were actually at the start line cheering on the runners and enjoying the experience. Then came the reminder of how totally sickening this world can be...

Finally got to a computer. The thoughts and prayers of everybody in my family goes out to the whole of Boston and its people. The world is becoming such a dark and dangerous place.

But there are brights lights of humanity as well. Lets hope that they outshine the bad things in the world.

More likely, the average finish last year was 4 hours and 20 mins, I believe I heard, and this was done around 4hours and 10 min...probably trying to maximize loss of life with the spectators and the runners.

Yesterday sucked, but life sucks, be grateful for your loved ones and know that not everyday is promised. And does it matter if it was domestic or foreign people are crazy all over. Times like this when we are at our strongest, UNITED.

Exactly. If you have been to a major marathon race, you will notice the crowds get larger after the elite athletes finish the race.

Boston is also unique in that the Red Sox play at 11am that day and the game lets out around that time so you're adding another 35,000 people to an already large crowd. I think yesterday the Red Sox game finished about 45 minutes before the explosions.

Seem to be building a picture of what was happening, before, during, and after this whole thing now, reports coming out and people posting on twitter of eye witness accounts. One in particular.....
