It takes some kind of dumb*** to walk alone at 4:45 AM, much less in the middle of this mess.

People going to work......they were sleep during the whole thing and most likely didn't know what was going on since not everybody turns on the tv before going to work.

That's incorrect about the suspect they are currently looking for. Grew up in Philly his whole life. True about the first one though who is dead.

I'm pretty sure I never heard their names over the scanner - I only read them on a tweet (that may or may not have been correct). That was right around the time the feed went down for a minute or so though, so I might have missed it.

The only thing I did hear for sure was the mention of the "white-hat guy" - the first link I personally heard to the marathon attacks.

I heard them saying one of the names before it went down for me. It wasn't the "missing guy" but the other one.

Before I left for work and lost the connection to the scanner, someone called about a suspicious looking Mack Truck outside the Harvard Business School, as well as a suspicious looking construction crew on a bridge.

Most likely nothing, and the suspicion is probably paranoia-fueled, but it was the only thing of note in the 10 minutes I listened.

This is nuts. Pretty much the entire greater Boston area is shut down right now. A friend of mines family lives a block or two away in Watertown and are locked in their house with police stationed in front. They searched their house and yard earlier this morning.
