I'm shocked at the cockiness. That they would stay in the area....did they think they wouldn't get caught? I assume that once the FBI released their images, they pretty much said **** this and decided to bomb MIT?

That campus officer is a hero. RIP.

They probably have no clue what they are doing aside from setting off a bomb. And with the way those photos spread like a virus, they would have been found no matter where they went. Might as well try and hide in a place you know versus one you don't.

Talking to another uncle who doesn't believe the two were involved. I guess that's what a family member would say but then why are they involved in a shootout with police and throwing explosives and killed a campus cop and carjacked someone.

Campus Officers are always messed around with here as not being "real cops". That was not the case today, definitely RIP to an American hero.

So they're Chechens? Very interesting. They're pretty damn good at terrorism, but they're usually blowing up schools, taking hostages (remember the theater a decade ago?), etc. in Russia (where they want independence). I never expected them here. Quite strange, to be honest.

Retired NYPD consultant on Imus this morning stipulated that they had no escape details worked out as they may have been planning to do more damage, not necessarily just responding to their pics being discovered. Sounds like they've been indoctrinated to radical Muslim, which could account for the older brother being killed by schrapnel from a device on or near him. They were apparently being pursued and were throwing explosives at the police.

I don't think these guys 'turned'.. More influenced maybe. I think the puzzle has only just begun, from what I have read, theres more to this than what meets the eye. Two guys just turn up in the U.S for a year then decide to bomb Boston on Patriots Day, near to the anniversary of the Oklahoma bombings?

Seems like something was in the works, and this plan was triggered from places elsewhere...

New reports that the dead one had a Youtube page that had videos depicted extreme jihad, the like, etc.

I would venture to guess they just decided to do this on their own...especially if they have been here since 2002-ish.
