If that's the case, add Chicago to your list. If I was a young and single up and comer like yourself, I would definitely put Chicago on my list.

Yeah Chicago is high in my list too. I also one day hope to own a hone in Saratoga so I can go on vacation during the summer and just bet on horse racing

Maryland is enjoyable for me. My town is close to Baltimore, only about 2 hours from Ocean City, plus I pretty much live on the Magothy River, which is nice. A short drive from just about any kind of terrain, it didn't get the nickname "America in Miniature" for nothin

Sometimes I wish I could live in RI again. It's where I was born and raised and it just feels right when I'm there, especially during the Fall. I do like NC though.

Rhode Island looks just beautiful. Would love to visit there sometime.

NC getting lots of love here. I wonder how many of you have experienced 95 degrees and absurd humidity. That makes this place miserable.

This is a great place to live, but if I could choose anywhere else, it would be either the Smokey Mtns (not too far from me now, but far enough) or So Cal. Last time I was out there it was 55 degrees and those people were freezing! Middle of January and 55 degrees, yes.

I prefer beautiful mountain ranges and relatively short trips to a beach. And LA seemed perfect weather-wise and the San Gabriel looked magnificent.

I don't think anyone is thinking E-town when saying NC, no offense. Which I am assuming is Elizabethtown, NC? Correct me if I am wrong.

The Summers are tough in NC, but I lived in Tallahassee for 5 years and it was rough for me. They don't have all 4 seasons there. NC has all 4 but not heavy on winter. But yes, Summer is rough.

Virginia is a nice place. I'm also into Oregon.

I think if I couldn't live in Florida I would choose New Hampshire.

There is so much of everything there. You can spend the day at the ocean and then drive an hour north and be in the beautiful mountains. The people are also pretty awesome too.

States are too broad. I could find a place to love in probably every state and many places to hate.

Great example is Tennessee. Overall, the state isn't appealing. But I absolutely love Nashville and right now don't wanna live anywhere else. Its a creative city, lots of young people coming here, a major health care hub (why I'm here), top notch music scene (only place that would compare is Austin), amazing restaurants, and last year it led the nation in job growth. That's why we are the new "it" city

But enough of my Nashville advertising.....point is picking a whole state is too broad of a brush!

I like Nashville (living just east of Memphis now), and I'm a die-hard Seattle guy. But I'll admit freely that TN is actually a very pretty state, the further east you go from Memphis anyway. The eastern side is just gorgeous, particularly around Knoxville and south of there in the Smokies.

On our way to Asheville this weekend we took HWY 26. Such an amazing drive with beautiful mountain scenery.

Not specifically a state, but I've always wanted to live somewhere in or around Boston(not so much anymore for obvious reasons). What states in USA are the safest in terms of lowest crime rates?

I'd also wanna live somewhere like Florida or California

Each state/city has varying crime rates depending on where you are.
