If you could live in any of the 50 U.S. states

As the title implies, if you could live anywhere in the US (incl. Alaska and Hawaii), where would you live?

For myself...ideally, I'd love to live on the Alaskan Panhandle. Sitka, especially. Average temp for the year is around 45 degrees, almost 90" of rainfall, only about 10 days of the year are over 70 degrees, no deep freezes to speak of. Ahhh. And quiet small town, away from people. Ocean, trees, snow-capped mountains. Pretty much my idea of paradise.

Practically as opposed to ideally...Puget Sound region, Washington State. Basically, back home.

I stand ready to be impressed by how many responders live exactly where they want to live in the US.

Hell, I can't even imagine living in the northern half of the state.

I'm happy in Charlotte. It's turning into Atlanta though so I'm going to need to move to a better spot in the next few years.

I live in Nebraska, and have for my whole life, and I'm ready for a change. Though I'm going to a Community College next fall in Norfolk, so I'm gonna be here for at least 2 or 3 more years.

I'd like to venture out to California. More consistent weather, no snow in May.

I love Nebraska, and it will always be home, but I've been so isolated. I've only gone to Colorado, South and North Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, and Wyoming. Only large-large cities I've been in have been Kansas City, Chicago, and Denver.

I'd have to say that right now, I'd want to go to California, but later on, as I get a wife and kids, I'd like to move back to Nebraska. Who knows?

Honestly, I don't hate living in Virginia and hitting the surrounding areas at the right times can be downright magical.

My dream home would be on a hill facing the mountains with nothing but trees/field between me and the horizon. Go out on my deck. Watch the sunset behind the mountains. Pick the ol guitar. Yeah, that sounds pretty damn good.

Of course, I could settle for a beach home, too. Maybe OBX, but probably something a bit more "stable."

Colorado
California (Somewhere on the coast)
Alabama

I'll soon get to see other parts of the country and world, so I'll probably come back to this thread and say Sweet Home Alabama.

I love where I have grown up, right on the lake and I wouldn't trade it for growing up anywhere else. I spend a lot of my time in the city now because of work, but my roots are in the country.

My #1 would probably be Colorado because it's a great mix between all four seasons and there's so much outdoor activity. However, you'd be hard pressed to find a more relaxing and beautiful location on a nice sunny day than in Seattle.

Actually, Oregon/Washington seems like it be a good fit with the weather, outdoors stuff, and other recreations.

As much I miss Louisiana I don't think I could live anywhere else but Florida. Family, friends, beaches, urban areas, rural areas, great weather most of the time, etc. It'd probably pay better to move to another state being that i'm gonna be an elementary teacher, but meh.

I'd take one of the more northerly southern states, if that made any sense. So anywhere like Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, anywhere like that would be fine by me. Not way too hot, but a lot nicer climate than up here.
