The wife and I just planted some parsley and some oregano this past weekend. I wish I had more space to grow veggies but our townhouse only has a small outside patio maybe 8x15. I might try to do a few tomato plants and some green peppers.

My long term goal has recently shifted to having space to grow as much of my own food as I can, with a small group of chickens for eggs and maybe a few goats for milk. That's probably way down the line though. Love to hear all these little tips from you more experienced guys. Keep em coming!

I did not pick up a rose this past weekend since my girlfriend brought over a dahlia for me. Thing is great.

I think one of the four mater plants bit the dust. He never really looked good when we planted so its not much of a surprise, but still. The other ones are doing fine thus far.

I have one roma tomato growing on what we call the Zombie Tomato plant.

I've been picking romas off since early this week and picking off my better girls for two weeks now. Girlfriend brings me cucumbers, jalapeno peppers, cilantro, and chile. Next year I think I might plant some cilantro and jalapeno peppers for myself.

How is everybody else's garden doing? I've been meaning to post pictures, but I keep forgetting.

Herbs are really easy, especially cilantro.

Pics below are from April, will try and get some updated ones on here this weekend.

As of right now we have; peppers (x3 = 3 diff. types), potatoes x2, tomatoes x2, eggplant x2, herbs various, swiss chard, spinach, cabbage, sunburst squash, crooked neck squash, zucchini x2, watermelon x2, melons x3, red/white onions, garlic, chives, celery, pumpkin, green beans x2, beans x2, apple (fuji) tree, cherry tree (has 4 different types on 1 tree, grafted), 2 fig trees, 2 olive trees, 2 blueberry bushes, strawberries, 2 blackberry bushes (year 1), raspberry bushes (just started from canes), oh I'm sure I'm forgetting something, oh yeah chickens (beatches always trying to eat the cabbage and pepper leaves) .

Anyways, y'all can do it, just make sure that there is enough water to go around, don't overcrowd your plants, but don't give them too much water to often and google all questions.

My wife loves flowers, but that normally means I get stuck with the work... she'll water them, but that's it. We've got three rose bushes in the backyard, a young Bradford pear, and a row of several sunflowers, which I'm beginning to think were a bad idea. In the front yard, several shrubs and a tree that were here when we moved in and will likely be ending their stay very soon.

Similar to the mini-gardens posted, I started a medium-sized, elevated vegetable garden project recently to pass time before I restart our larger garden in the early Spring. We've got several of each, cucumbers, squash and okra.

I'm going to bump this up since we just bought a house and I have a bunch of ideas. My primary goal is to have a rose garden/flower bed. Talking with people it seems like they can be kind of temperamental and take a bit more care than most plants. Do any of you guys have any tips or suggestions for roses or any other types of flowers that would be good.

I would also like a combination of tulips and lilies in a separate flower bed, but the rose one is my primary focus right now.

Pretty excited on setting up a garden and planting fruit trees like papaya, mango, coconut,bananas and pineapples on a open property behind our resort.

I was planning what we were gonna plant on the side of our villas and I thought it would be nice to put fruit trees like Calamansi which is a Philippine lime instead of typical bushes. Would give guest a chance to pick them and also serve a purpose rather than bushes that just sit there. Will also plant dwarf coconut trees on the property so it'll be easy to pick coconuts.

For the garden, probably stick with herbs and stuff like cucumbers and okra.

I turned over my garden and put down all new weed matting, then all this rain hit for like a month straight I lost everything but a couple jalapeno peppers. Texas and us have been destroyed by rain this year and man did it ruin my garden. Sucks, two years in a row I've had big issues.

Next year, I'm starting seeds indoors much earlier

Always wanted to grow a lime tree.

Is it as simple as burying the seeds in soil and giving it an ample amount of water?
