Re: How long have you been around OS?
Lurking Since 2006. Made an account in 2008 and I never intended on posting. My Username was incredibly stupid and I made many cringe worthy posts over the years. However I have had one hell of a time on O.S and I wouldn't change anything (well almost anything). Here's to many more years of this community!

Ha ha, not at all. And there are a couple of others in this thread that's got the same story. I won't call anybody out though. Maybe it's the coach in me but it's been fun virtually watching some of you guys grow.Comment

Re: How long have you been around OS?
Been here for quite a while. Started off posting my dynasty reports from maddenmania, then just felt like home here at OS. Even though it says joined in 2006; I was here long before that in 2002-2003.Comment

Re: How long have you been around OS?
Been here since 04, I joined because I couldn't take the stupidity and immaturity of most basketball messageboards. Finding this site was great to me.
I've always been a lurker but I'll have my "active" periods. Overall this place is great not just for gaming but the entertainment and neighborhood sections are great too. I've grown up a lot as a sports "watcher" because of this site.
I see the game in a different way then most people around me and have a much higher respect for the history of the game of basketball. It's also great to be able to PM certain guys who have good knowledge on the game too it's like havin a key to the past which is great for a young 22 year old like myself.
So much love to OS and the Simnation hope to be hear for another 10.Comment

Re: How long have you been around OS?
I can't believe i've been here for more than a decade. I can't say that I haven't enjoyed every minute of it though as i've seen this place grow from a bit of a frontier town mentality to being something more of a community. Thankfully, unlike many sites that eventually become corporate this site has maintained a sense of togetherness and collegiality that should be the example for other message boards to follow.
Yes the main site has gotten more professional and there's a stronger working relationship with some publishers etc etc the actually community has remained pretty much intact as one that has thrived on the communal aspect thanks to the presence of long time members who have kept the community as something more than just a message board where the conversation can often become banal beyond description.
That's not to say it hasn't seen its fair share of upheavals. The people behind this great community have tried things like a "Babes Forum" and a "politics/news forum" more than a few times and it has often ended in spectacular failure but I commend the admins/staff past and present who were willing to give it a shot.
I didn't know what I was getting into when I first joined but i've come to appreciate OS as a place where I or anyone can just talk about our passions whether it be sports video games, entertainment or the daily grind of our everyday lives.
That is what makes this place so special and IMO there's no other community on the internet as close knit and together as this one.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I lurked here for a couple weeks back in December 2009 looking for Madden info and actually joined New Year's Day 2010. Although I've been sort of "in and out" with my activity over that time, I still check the site constantly and think the community here is fantastic. Keep up the great work guys!
