Is it Possible to lose interest in Video Games?
For the past 3 months, most of my time has been focus on improving on my school work without playing some video games during my summer break. I've always been playing video games since i was 8 years old, but for some reason my interest has evaporated to the point where i'm not even excited for the some of the most popular year in video games (the release of GTA V and the New Xbox/PS System). I guess this is a good thing to pay more attention to my work, but i was wondering has anyone ever had a moment like this?San Francisco Giants

Of course! You can lose interest in anything. I used to play video games all the time when I was kid. That went down quite a bit in high school to almost non-existent in college. I play video games maybe 4-6 hours a month now. Yes, I said month. -

You can definitely lose interest man. I'm with Doc, that's about how much I game each month. There are anomalies like The Last of Us, where I gamed for 20 hours over three days.Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Fool me three times, **** the peace sign, load the chopper let it rain on you.

For me it's not so much lost interest. Having other responsibilities has taken a huge chunk o my leisure time.

Re: Is it Possible to lose interest in Video Games?
I posted back in April that I was really starting to get back into gaming. Since finishing Bioshock Infinite though, I've really not had much desire to play. I probably only play an hour or two a week now.Comment

Re: Is it Possible to lose interest in Video Games?
I went 5 or 6 years playing basically no video games, then picked up a PS3 about 2 years ago. Right now I basically never play the thing except upon a new game release, and that only lasts about a month. I'd say my interest in games is the same now as it was in that 5 or 6 years stretch, the only difference is I have a PS3 now and don't have that $350 hurdle to get a new game.Comment

Re: Is it Possible to lose interest in Video Games?
YES!!! I've been flight simming on my pc more often than doing anything with my PS3.
Mainly, it's because my favorite genre of games (sports) have become stale and boring.
I'm not an FPS player, nor a role player type, so those games aren't in my library.Comment

Re: Is it Possible to lose interest in Video Games?
Ive been bored with games for a long time but every now and then a true gem comes out that sparks my inner spirit for games again. Those are usually hot new IPs.
My problem is that so many games are so similar. Its just become so formulaic and dull. I still love games, but I am over playing the same type of games over and over and over.Last edited by kingkilla56; 08-03-2013, 08:03 PM.Comment

I'm a sports gamer second rather than first so my interest is almost always high for the next game coming.
