    Generations Collide in Sports?

In sports, people always talk about dream matchups and what it'd be like if we did see something like Lebron vs Jordan, Gretzky vs Crosby and so on.Or what'd it have been like if Magic and Kobe played together, or if Jeter and Mantle played together. But what are some big moments between people of two generations that we actually got to see happen?

EX-Jordan vs Kobe we got to see a few times during Kobes first 2 years of his career, and later again when Jordan came back with Wizards. If Jordan came back the following year,we would've had Jordan vs Lebron within the first 10 games of the Wizards/Cavs season.

Another "almost moment" would've been Magic Johnson and how he came back for 1 season, but if he came back the year after(or stayed for that year) he'd have been on Lakers team that had Kobe/Shaq(their 1st year as Lakers).

But what are some of those big generation moments that actually did happen.

Jordan-Kobe like I mentioned before as a time we saw Generation vs Generation.
Lemieux-Crosby(played together for just under a third of a season) is one where two stars of diff generations actually did play together on same(non allstar) team

I wish Dale Murphy could have played on some of Chipper's Braves teams.

    Also Bird & Bias.

The Spendid Splinter & Yaz (that'd been one crowded left field lol).

Bart Starr playin' for Bear Bryant.

Miggy & Sheffield together as Marlins.

Sometimes I wish George Steinbrenner had owned the Indians or started
Tampa as an expansion in the '70's instead of the Mariners, or Toronto.

Lastly, Bud Selig stayed on as an owner of the Brewers instead of becomin'
commish, but that prolly doesn't count lol.

Jeff Gordon vs. Richard Petty in the NASCAR Winston Cup in 1992.

Schumacher vs. Vettel for the last few seasons in F1? Schumacher vs. Senna/Prost/Mansell in 1991-1993. Well, even Schumacher won the race in which Senna was involved in his infamous fatal crash.

Would've loved to see Bill Russell with either of Boston's Big 3s (late 80s/late 00s).

Ted Williams or Yaz on the current Sox.

Russell Wilson throwing bombs to Steve Largent! Lol or handing off to Shaun Alexander.

Top of my head that's all I can think of.

Another one I thought of....Hakeem and Yao on Rockets. Hakeem got traded before final year of his career, and he retired a year before Yao came into NBA. Imagine Rockets team with those 2 together(2 of NBAs bigger non USA born stars, playing on same team)

Durant and Allen on Sonics(Allen got traded the day Durant got drafted)

Scottie Pippen played a bit in 03-04 in a game against Carmelo.

This is why I LOVE when sports games let us add legendary players to the player pool. Makes for a great and different experience.

Eh not really. You got to remember you'd have been getting a 40 year old Hakeem. He was a shell of his former self at that point. It's not like you are getting 80's Hakeem with Yao in that situation.

It was dead before then. 2000-2001 is the last season of NBA basketball I really enjoyed watching, from beginning to end. The Nets winning the East, even if they were a good team, were pretty dark to me. Reggie's last season was ok, but it had already been downhill for me for the most part. Part of it was going up in the 90's and a majority of those players had retired with relatively few big stars left I grew up watching.
