This. And keep short hair cuts, frequently. Unless you have a fully funded 401k just laying around that you didn't plan to use. I was about 23 when my hair started to fade. Depressing for a while.

Bad thing is, I'm the only one in my family losing it like that! Some girls have all the luck.

You'll get used to it quick.

One of the best decisions I've ever made. I was around 25 when I started shaving it and it's so much better than the alternative (worrying about something completely out of your control).

Get a tan on your dome. It'll take some time but you will get used to it (and love it).

I always joke... In elementary school I had to wear an eye patch over one eye with goofy looking glasses on. In high school I had a head gear and acne. Right when I got out of college I started losing my hair. "Come on, God.. give me a break."

I felt bad for the guy that lived across the hall from me my freshman year in college. Full head of hair then, saw him 3 years later walking around and he was seriously balding...

Sucks that there's no solution for you guys!

I started to bald on the top back of my head when I was a freshman in college (19), and slowly on the front "top corners" as well. I'm beginning to believe that a new shampoo/conditioner/gel that I was using had a lot to do with it, because it was the first time I was using it, it's been recalled (was an Herbal Essences product that hasn't been sold for quite a few years now), and I haven't noticed much hair recession since then.

In other words, I have a feeling it's much less genetic-based and much more me ****ing up. It sucks too.

I've been using Nioxin conditioner, shampoo, and leave-in conditioner that's supposed to remedy it. Although I haven't seen any improvement in the past few years, it hasn't gotten worse. That's good enough for me. No more screwing around with dyed hair-care products that advertise to do certain things (which they did) while doing other things.

I started losing at 22. Now 24. I have accepted my fate, and now shave every 3 months. #3 all around.

i started graying at 18 and balding at 23-24. i combed it back, slicked it old-school gangster-style, wore a hat, i was embarrassed by it...and everyone could tell! finally, my wife convinced me to bic it, and i haven't looked back. the thing you have to do (and i can't stress this enough) is wear your new style with confidence. i had hair halfway down my back for most of my youth, so losing it was like losing my image. shaving my head put the choice back in my hands. make it YOUR decision. your hair ISN'T coming back and you'll spend a boatload of money for very minimal improvement.

I started losing my hair when I was 19 (29 now). Shaving your head is really the only solution to hair loss IMO. Nothing looks worse than a guy trying to hold on to what little hair he has left.

I buzz mine with no guard once a week. Occasionally I'll use an electric razor or a blade. You can shave your head in no more than 5 minutes once you get the hang of it.

I am a little thin on top and my hairline is starting to recede pretty bad, I just shave it off. I don't bic it, but buzz it pretty low.
