    Re: Off Topic 2014

I've been active on the internet since the mid '90s though i've never been one to be very active on forums. OS is the only forum that i've stuck around on and I think it's because when I joined it was still a relatively small community. I think if I had joined a few years later I'd have fallen away and become inactive.

Sure got you guys talking about Maserati, though, didn't it? I'd say mission accomplished.

This Olympics might be one of the worst Olympics of all time, if not sporting events in general.

        1. Billions of dollars spent, the Village isn't finished.
        2. The bathrooms are 2 toilets next to each other with no divider.
        3. Russia has asked that all stray dogs in the area be killed.
        4. American athletes are being encouraged to not where the stars and stripes outside of competitions.
        5. One of the Canadian hockey players told his family not to travel to Russia, that they'd be safer watching him on TV from home.
        6. I attached an image of the drinking water.

Just finished watching Skeletor win The Biggest Loser. The show should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

Seriously how did that woman drop down so far? She looked emaciated tbh. I mean kudos to her, but how can it be healthy to drop that much weight in that short of time? Well, doctors know more than me lol, but she lost like 60% of her total weight. The guy (David I think) looked pretty bad too, I bet he thought he had it in the bag til he saw her.

For the wrong reasons. I'm much less likely to buy something if I'm infuriated by their ad campaign.

While I admit it wasn't executed as well as it might've been, I'll just steal the closing from Jalopnik, as it sums up my thoughts better than I could ever write.
"Maserati's first Super Bowl ad deserves to be remembered because it was a beautiful, breathtaking surprise not watered down by drawn-out teasers or unnatural celebrity cameos. And at the end of 90 seconds, it left you asking, "What was that?"

That's how you sell a car."

The best Super Bowl ads are the surprising ones these days. Not surprisingly bad or the surprisingly long-lasting, but the ones that aren't teased or too buzzy ahead of time, just the ones we least expect. This year, Maserati (of all companies) was so close to hitting the mark perfectly with the Maserati Ghibli it's worth discussing how they did it.

Night of arrival is tiring sometimes. Recruits roll through from 1900 to 0200 and I usually don't get out until 06.

Then I proceed to eat chow and sleep until about 14.. get ready and start the day over again.

I didn't forsee my career starting like this. Its usually spent briefing recruits who are too shy to pee in front of someone for their urinalysis.

The guy I'm working with tonight is from the Bronx. Our accents work well together.

I didnt watch the show but saw someone make a video on youtube flaming it. It looked bad. She started at 260 pounds and dropped to 105, to win that show didn't she like have to become emaciated? This has to be brutal for the show's image. These weight loss shows where you need to lose x amount in y amount of time can be dangerous. Hope she didn't do any damage physically or psychologically to herself in the process.

Wow. Do you know how long it took her to lose that weight?

In the short amount of research Ive done they film on a ranch somewhere between 3-4 months then go home for 5-6 months more before the finale. So roughly 8-10 months total.

In completely unrelated news, I saw this somewhere online and it had me wondering

Do caterpillars know they they are going to become butterflies? Or do they just get in a cocoon thinking, what the **** am I doing?
Lol what do they think? hahaha
