Hope you enjoy your day in Dallas man! Welcome to the DFDub. As for Triple Crown's suggestion of Texas de Brazil, I'd second that. It's pretty awesome. Just know ahead of time that it's going to be pricey. As far as other food goes, if you like Pizza, you absolutely need to hit up Cane Rosso in Dallas. You can find the link for that place here:
    Cane Rosso

That place is great and has made it on the Food Network. If you like Tacos, you can also find this place in Downtown Dallas (It's a Hidden Gem):
    Taco Borracho

You can do either of those before or after you hit up the Sixth Floor Museum. You should also see if you can hit up Reunion Tower while you're there. I don't recommend the restaurant, too pricey and not enough food. But it gives you an awesome view of Dallas.

As for some other things to do:

Galleria: If you like Malls, you'll love the Galleria. It's obnoxiously large and always booming with customers.

Dallas World Aquarium: It's a pretty decent size and it's growing in popularity.

American Airlines Center: If you'd like to see where the Mavericks/Stars play, you can head over to the AAC. They've always got something playing on the video screen. And it's surrounded by restaurants and stores so it's not a wasted trip.

Bishop Arts District: This is a fun little neighborhood filled with various odd restaurants and shops. You're sure to find some interesting souvenirs here.

Go to Arlington: Yes, I know. "I'm visiting Dallas man!" I get it. But if you truly want to see what the DFW is all about, go to Arlington. It's only thirty minutes outside of Dallas. Within one single location you'll see AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys), Globelife Park in Arlington (Texas Rangers), Six Flags Over Texas (Theme Park) and Hurricane Harbor (Water Park). Surrounding those places are some really awesome bars, restaurants and shops.
    Spoiler

Normally, I'd suggest you just come on over to Fort Worth so you get the real authentic Texas City feel. As Dallas is more of your typical city. But you're on limited time so you'll just have to fit it in during your next trip down here. Hope some of that helps.

I could probably take some of these suggestions even though I've lived 20 minutes from Dallas my entire life...

My suggestion would be take a detour to Arlington and do a tour of Cowboys Stadium. I think it's about $15 a person, but you do get to play on the field at the end. If you do venture over to Arlington eat at Babe's Chicken. Amazing chicken and then all the sides are family style and unlimited.

Awesome info. Thanks! I'm going to have to pass these along, because there are some great suggestions in here. I really wish I had more than just a day, but that's the way it worked out. And believe me, I've been pushing to go to AT&T Stadium. Really hard. But every time I do I get the "But Arlington's so far away!" speech. I will have to suggest going to American Airlines Center for sure, though.

If you don't try to go that way during rush hour it should only take about 20 minutes to be in the stadium parking lot.

MrSerendipity I have some friends coming to visit next week. I don't venture to Dallas a lot other than Mavs games and concerts. Is Greenville Ave actually good for "bar hopping"?

Greenville is definitely a pretty good bar hopping spot. It's split into Upper and Lower Greenville. I'm a fan of The Dubliner, as I'm Irish and have a thing for Pubs. The more "Upper" you get on Greenville the more College Kids you're going to run into. So it depends on what crowd you're looking for.

Unless you are trying to find a house or decent apartment north of 20. Then it's terrible

$143 for a 4 hour orientation and a bunch of online training courses that I finished in like an hour. I'll take it.

You're probably aiming for more Upper Greenville then. Don't shy away from Lower though, some of the younger crowd drifts down that way.

Or you could just make it easier on yourself and go to Fort Worth where every bar seems to be connected.

Details? I'm assuming the Phillies and Sixers make up all but maybe one of these losing streaks.

There was also a time where all 4 teams made it to or won their respective championship in the same season (1980).

Sixers make up 3 of those(only city in NBA history to have 3 18+ game losing streaks) and Philadelphia Athletics make up the rest.

I'd have thought a city that sucks at winning stuff(aka Cleveland, or Toronto) would have alot of those streaks. Toronto surprisingly doesn't really have many insanely bad losing streaks in their history, though Cleveland does have a number of bad losing streaks(nowhere near as many big streaks as Philly though)
