So this girl that I know is a very good friend of mine. We were talking all throughout last Fall up until January or so. We helped each other out by giving advice to each other and whatnot, because months ago, we were both miserable. While we were talking, she said that she'd love to go overseas someday and join the Peace Corps. After sending in an application, she was denied.

So she was miserable, and me being the dick I am stopped talking to her (naturally) when I started dating my current girlfriend in January. Meanwhile, she joined a group called FOCUS and is now going to Uganda this summer for a mission trip. And I hardly talked to her from January until tonight.

She told me tonight that she has raised a total of $3500 for her trip, but her goal is to reach $3900 by May. And since I was in my own bubble for two months, I felt awful that I haven't even donated a single penny to this girl that has more-or-less been my best friend the past 6 months.

So I write her a letter, which is basically a big apology from me for being a bad friend and stuff, and go to the ATM and withdraw $200 and clip it to the letter.

I already feel like that was the nicest thing I've ever done, by far. Maybe being a good guy isn't such a drag after all. I dunno why I felt the need to post this in OT, but it's better than writing in a journal. I just had to tell somebody. I'm a whore!

I'm too much of a bad guy to do something like that. Plus none of my friends are going to other places to do good things. Plus I really only have like four friends anyways.
