Preferably under $90. Sorta strange though, I want to get best quality, but want to get somewhat cheap one. Best prices I can find are between $60-$90 though so that should be good. I just don't know if there's really anything significantly better about one that costs $80 compared to one that costs $60.

I can get 500GB for just over $50, but if I can get 1TB for less than double the price, might as well.

Mostly just using the hard drive for abunch of videos I got on my computer. Who knows if I'll even need anywhere close to 500GB let alone 1TB.

Just sucks though that the 2 best ones I've found online, aren't available.

I'd go for one of the Seagate ones recommended in The Wirecutter article I linked you. You can get 500GB for $55 on Amazon, 1TB for $68, and 2TB for $105. My best advice is to get one size bigger than you think you'll need, if you can afford it. Always better to have too much storage than too little.

I'm thinking of getting a portable external hard drive, but unsure whether or not I should.

Is it basically just like 1 giant USB flash drive where I plug it into my USB port on my computer and can transfer stuff to/from it? And all the stuff to use it comes with the hard drive right? How reliable is it too, cause I got probably 100-200gb of stuff to put on it but want to make sure nothing will go wrong and it'll just get corrupt and I lose everything.

Would it be a dick move if I let one of my roommates be late for muster ? He thinks because I'm the deck leader he can be a dirtbag. I'm tired of waking him up for his watches and cleaning up after him.

I bought a new PC with a 1 TB HD (actually 917 GB of usable space) about 2 years ago. When I got it it had about 835 GB free, and 2 years later it still has 775 GB free.

Same here, still have 797 GBs available (out of 913 GB). 57.2 GBs for music.

So basically I have 120 gigs of space used up and half of it is music
