Normally its just veggies/chips and dip/salsa. I'll probably do fried mozzarella sticks (pretty easy with wonton wrappers) and some other small things like that with the pizza.

Ever try hummus? I swear, I keep meaning to pick some up to try it, but I never remember to write it down on my list, because we're not 'out of it'.

Hammos is amazing, especially when done right. The store bought **** is awful. I have to doll it up if I get that stuff.

Of course, it runs through my veins so maybe that's why I think it's amazing.

I thought the same thing, but had some legit hummus at a hole in the wall place around here.

Way different than I expected and it got my approval and I'm pretty picky.

At the very least it's probably something you could pick up for a party and try it.

Here's my Chip/Dip some suggestions (if you're looking)

Either

a) Pepper jelly and cream cheese - just pour the pepper jelly over the top of soften cream cheese and serve it with chips/crackers of your choice

or

b) "Cowboy Caviar" - I used to eat this all the time as a kid. I haven't had it in a couple of years, but basically you just throw a bunch of stuff in a bowl and let it chill for a little bit, then serve

Off the top of my head I used to use:
1 can of black eyed peas (drained)
1 can of yellow corn
1 can of shoepeg corn
1 onion (chopped)
1 Green Bell Pepper
1 can of Ro-tel or Diced tomatoes
8-10 oz of Zesty Italian Dressing

There are other variations of this online with things like Avocado, Black Beans, etc. But basically you can add whatever you please.

My personal preference is this has to be served with Fritos Scoops


No cooking involved in either of these.

Had pepper jelly and cream cheese for the first time as an app at our Christmas dinner this year. Very good stuff. I had never heard of pepper jelly before that.

So it's one of my friend's dreams to visit Egypt. As much as I'd like for her to be able to fulfill that, I really don't think it's a good idea all things considered.

That is the place I want to go more than anywhere in the world. I'm attempting to wait patiently for several more years for their political strife to fix itself. Ugh.

YEARS? Wow, I haven't been following what is happening there...is it that bad?

I'm a little particular about where I'd love to go outside the US...just New Zealand (yes, Middle Earth fan here), Greece (for the history), and perhaps the UK and Germany. New Zealand would be my top choice.
