    Re: Off Topic 2014

So I'm currently on Day 2 or 3 of sleeping/waking up at normal people times (not by choice, partially due to being sick and partially due to primary insomnia constantly ****ing with my sleep schedule.)

I'm not a particularly happy person if I have to be awake during the daytime, I have just realized this recently.

I played a ton of ESPN SpeedWorld on the Genesis as a kid. I'll never forget the fact that they had Jerry Punch in that game.

It's the worst. I miss staying up until 6, 7am then sleeping through the day. Should have found a job that would have allowed me to keep that schedule going.

My first real job my hours were 4:30pm til 3:00 am, Monday through Thursday. During the busy times if we had to work Friday it was all OT. That was perfect because once I got off work on Thursday I had all weekend to do whatever I wanted. Plus I was going to school on Mondays and Wednesdays so I really only had one difficult day each week.

About two years in they changed the hours to 8 hours days 4:00pm til 1:00am (iirc). Friday's became a normal night of work and Saturday was OT. I hated that.

I'm leaving for Salt Lake City through Dallas via Hartford on Friday, and I have a feeling my fight could be delayed due to this winter storm that is currently in the south. Nothing worse than spending the night at an airport because you missed your connection flight.

Ah, I remember those days. Can't believe it's been nearly 15 years since I graduated high school. I still remember some of the colleges that sent me mail; Temple, Hofstra, Drexel, Muskingum, pretty much all colleges in Pennsylvania or states that border PA. Of the 7 schools I applied to, I don't think any of them were among those that sent me mail though.

I've taken to naming my box-cutters at work.

I thought I liked my 8-5's, but I've been doing some 1-10's and it's a nice change. I like the mix. 8-5 yields a nice "regular" night, dinner at 6ish but I'm usually beat from the day. Working that 1-10 I still get up at 7am and can run errands and whatnot. But I wouldn't wanna work until 10 every night.

Wait, so they actually made a documentary on 12 O'Clock Boys in Baltimore ? It is on Xbox Video right now for rent or to buy. Watched the free 20 second preview of it and SMH. Those parents need to be slapped and all those kids need their *** whooped.

Kid said I been on this Earth for a decade and 2 years, so that makes me a grown *** man......

Another kid said he hit a tree and got knocked out. But he likes the feeling of being knocked out because it is a rush. What the hell ?

They are calling it, The Wire on Wheels. Bunch of tom foolery is what it is. Sad man, really sad.

Night shift is the right shift. Gimme a 10pm to 6am any day. Not that much different from how late I used to stay up until I had a roommate.

I got a bunch of meh colleges that sent me stuff, the only one I applied from them was Xavier(which I get the $24,000 scholarship from them, which was half off basically), but I applied to Purdue and NC State as well, even though I didn't get any paperwork from them(Purdue, I went to introduction things, but nothing in the mail) and got accepted to both. Applying early is the key. I applied before the December deadline for scholarships or whatever it was, and I think it helped for getting accepted at NC State and Purdue for Math / Stats.

Also, don't be afraid of applying if you don't think you can make it. My counselor said it was stupid for me to apply to NC State because she didn't think I could make it (I had As/Bs throughout high school and had taken like a total of seven or eight AP / ACP classes.) When I got the mail, man I wanted to run up to her and just tell to F off.

One day, Purdue Men's Basketball and Football will become relevant again.

The problem with night shift is when it's on the weekend. Other than that, I can dig it.
