Re: Off Topic 2014
Yes, really.
Just a quick Google search of ND DOT and look at #1
Spoiler
I get it. Southerners don't have the experience in those types of conditions. Accidents will happen. Their infrastructure is not built for this kind of event.
But that won't stop me from chipping in my .02. I'm done.Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment

LOL that stuff doesn't work at all. Please, come drive on these roads and tell me about how much better it is than in the South.

Re: Off Topic 2014
They don't spray in Johnstown. I lived there. I graduated from high school there. It's worse in Johnstown than it is in Altoona. There's a reason Johnstown Area Schools are the first to get cancelled.--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

I graduated from Richland. The primary road, Scalp, was the only thing that was ever remotely touched until you got to Geistown (between Richland and Johnstown). Once you got to Geistown, they said **** it and didn't even bother salting until the snow was done.--

But it certainly wouldn't hurt have some around as a "Just in case", right? It's not like we're talking about Miami or even Brownsville, TX here where the chances of snow are pretty much minute.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Off Topic 2014
If you guys want a city that's not prepared for the snow it could get -- and does more often than the South -- look no further than Seattle. The place is one giant hill after another (thanks Ice Age!) and yet you will constantly find streets covered in ice along major bus routes, etc. Freeways (that California word I use for whatever reasons) aren't bad but inside the city, yeesh.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2014
Why in the hell would I google NDDOT?
Oh right, I wouldn't.
We don't spray anything down in my area, and we deal with it just fine. Sorry that people don't know how to drive in the south whenever the weather is inclement. Oh my, what is this magically **** falling from the sky? Better drive like an ******* and blame it on it whenever I wreck!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Another thing that most people don't seem to understand is how hilly that an area like Birmingham is.
When I lived in Birmingham the road leading up to my Apartment was an a really steep hill. The roads were iced over really badly so my roommate and I parked at a gas station at the bottom of the hill and walked up. There were already 2 or 3 cars in a ditch from people trying to make it up and sure enough others thought that they could for some reason. A group of onlookers were already standing by watching as we walked and we joined them watching others attempt to make it. Most of them would get half way up, then start spinning before losing control and sliding *** backwards into the other cars already in the ditch at the bottom. A few 4 wheel drives made it up, but the 2 wheel drives had no chance.
Again were talking ice here, not snow.
Also with Atlanta of course they aren't use to driving on snow either, but their city officials should share a big part of the blame. When you have everyone, in a city that already had traffic problems, getting on the roads at the same time, then the traffic is going to be gridlocked regardless of snow or ice. Also the kids should have never been at school in the first place. The meteorologist who predicted a dusting should feel bad too. Basically, it was the perfect storm in more ways that one. I guess some people think others misfortune is funny. I'm just not one of those people. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
