It's still not favorite artist. It's the most listened to via Spotify and other services. I listed to all three of those a few times even though I wouldn't have any of them in my top 100 "favorite", but it contributes to the numbers. This time next year other mainstream pop artist will have replaced Daft Punk, Mcklemore, Imagine Dragons, and Lorde. The other map is 100 times more relevant in terms of defining an area.Here's the map for the actual favorite artists, by state. The previous one floating around was the most distinctive artist in each state. So basically, artists that are listened to proportionally more than the rest of the country.

I don't like that 3 artists dominate that map, but it could be a hell of a lot worse. I don't listen to any of those artists (okay, there may be a few Jay Z & Macklemore plays), but I mostly respect what they do over some of their peers.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

I noticed that it was the distinctive artists right away and not the most listened to artists. I found the distinct artist map to be far and away more interesting. Shows a little bit of diversity, however, Iowa doesn't improve from the other map... (B.o.B and Macklemore? C'mon guys.)Here's the map for the actual favorite artists, by state. Anyone listen to Opie and Anthony? They do a Jocktober bit in October, it's where they find radio shows from different markets and play their horrible bits and just be *******s about it. Usually their listeners end up finding that radio shows Facebook page and for the day they are featured on Jocktober, it is balls out on their Facebook page and it usually ends up getting shut down.
Right now they are doing a show in NY called The Todd Show (some show where a long time co-host left and it's rebrande), the show started Monday and they were wanting to use #TheToddShow on Twitter. Well of course the fans of of O&A have used the hashtag and ran with it. Some of it is very funny, some is way out there and some is just down right crude, but all in all, it's hilarious to me.Comment
