I don't mean that in a snarky way, I'm genuinely curious about why the Bengals. They're a pretty bland franchise to me, outside of AJ McCarron. And maybe he's the reason, I don't know.

This is the weirdest situation I have ever been in.

The merchant says that, on their side, the transaction showed up as Bill Me Later, on my side it shows as Paypal and that it was coming out of my account. Sure enough, I woke up this morning, and 3,200 bucks was deducted from my checking account, even though I never authorized Paypal to process the transaction in the first place.

Unbelievable. The guy on the phone yesterday at least said it would take five days for paypal to go after my account so I had hoped that I would at least have to see where the refunded money ended up and fixing it. At least this solved one mystery, the refund is clearly going straight back into my checking account, not to paypal.

I try to stay objective with this stuff and realize that I make mistakes all the time and maybe I messed something up and there is a lesson to be learned here. But I am struggling a little bit.

I hate my backyard.

It slopes downward from the fence at the back property line to the back of the house. There's no grass so the only ground covering is ivy and green (the whole backyard is basically in shade 24/7) and so there's a good amount of dirt-ground.

About one-third of the yard was dug down and a deck was a built off the backdoor. The deck is awesome. There are steps leading from the deck up into the yard. When it rains above freezing it creates a real awesome mud-fall where mud slides from the top of the steps and flows down. Mud also flows from beneath the steps. This all results in a fantastic accumulation of mud right outside the backdoor.

I need a dam.

Long story about a cat, a road, and my car.

So last night I thought I hit a cat. I was driving him and at the last moment I saw the cats eyes. I tried to position my car so the cat would be between my wheels and survive. I was praying it wouldn't go all run anyway and try to flee, getting clipped by the car. Unfortunately I felt my rear left wheel hop and heard a pop.

I bitched out and didn't even turn back to see the scene. I just drive slowly the last 2 minutes to my home. That **** scarred me man. I couldn't eat (this was at 1am btw). I couldn't enjoy anything I just kept seeing the cats eyes. So I couldn't sleep. I've been up since.

So this morning I go for a jog and man up to go see the scene. The whole walk to the block I'm imagining all sorts of scenes. Squished torso, splattered head, broken legs, blood everywhere.

When I get there (this is at 5:30am btw), all I see is a black bag with an open bag of chips and a smashed Gatorade bottle. I look around no blood, no fur, nothing. So I've chosen to assume the cat survived.

And that was my night.
