Madden 07 was my favorite. Playing as the fullback and leveling the corner on a toss is such a great feeling.

Madden 08 was my favorite. After 08 was when it seemed like they just started coasting.

NCAA just continued to get better and better every year and Madden just.. didn't.

NFL 2k5 is soooo overrated... now, NFL Gameday 99... that's where it's at.

Not to say they haven't regressed in some areas, while progressing in others. It's stayed at a state of relative decency.
Madden 2005 was pretty good, that was a great year. I felt Madden 06 was really good too. The come was very polarizing. Recent Madden's I've played (10, 12, and 13) have all been progressively better. Playing M13 is like playing APF2k8 with the way the players move and react.

NFL 2k5 got a lot more fun to play when I wasn't breaking it down like a science. When I started just playing to enjoy it, everything fell in to place.

I think the Madden's are better, it's just that it took 5-10 years to get to the level 2k was. That exclusivity deal really held back the progress. Madden would've been better off with the competition. They weren't ever going to be overtaken sales wise, so they should've used the 2k series as a study in what works, then add it in to the way their game felt and played.

Man, it's been probably since 2k5 since I cared so much about either game. It's a shame how everything went down. Kids nowadays will never know what it was like.

I enjoyed 08 too. Though I haven't really played a ton of Madden since 08... Heck, I still play 08 with updated rosters on my PC.

Same with Jerome Bettis. 600 yards in a game with him once.

Is it possible to break your finger and still be able to bend it? Slammed it in the car door last week and it did the "go numb, turn colors" deal, but since I could bend it still, I figured I'd be fine and it was probably just a deep bruise. Haven't really seen any improvement but as long as I can still press R1/R2 on the PS3 controller I'm not too worried.

Ahman Green was unfair on 2k5. Only guy I dominated more with than Green on 2k5 would be Shaun Alexander on Madden 07. Dude ran through guys like paper.

Madden on the ps2 was/is great. I still play it regularly. Not this gen at all. Way downhill. I dont like 2k either.

I remember wrecking people with washed-up Eddie George in NFL 2K4, that's how broken the power running game was lol.

I also remember in NFL 2K5 safeties running in circles in deep zone coverage, penalty yardage subtracting from a player's rushing yards, the absolutely obtuse and impossible to understand weekly prep mechanic, and the QB-RB-LT-DE first-round draft AI bug which wrecked franchise mode for me. It wasn't a perfect game and in my opinion it hasn't aged well.

IMO Madden pretty much always had a better franchise mode than 2K, which kept me coming back to it regardless whatever advantage in whatever areas on the field NFL 2K may have held an advantage.
